Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press

Slimani man. 7 goals in 30 league appearances so far. He's hardly gonna start setting the world alight. Crap signing and stinks of relegation.

Howay man thought you were better than that. He's played more than 20 minutes just once this season in 8 sub apps. He'll get a lot more games here with not having an already established pairing of Vardy & Okazaki to contend with.

14 starts, 19 sub apps with 7 goals and 5 assists at a goal every 200 minutes. He was Rafa's main target had we stayed up last time by several accounts so is obviously someone he likes. I think he'd be a great signing for us.

Don't waste your breath man. He doesn't get a game for Leicester and so must be garbage. Bloody ridiculous people man.

Ashley might have downgraded your expectations about what is acceptable or not but he hasn't for me like.

We've spent basically fuck all despite having our most competent manager since fuck knows when. We're staring down the barrel at relegation and we're in desperate need of a striker. Sugar coat it in terms of starts all you want (which probably tells it's own story) but the likes of Slimani on loan is not fucking good enough given how critical January is. Assuming this is true you've got the likes of Brighton bidding 18m for Dembele and we're having to rely a Leicester cast off finding a bit of form. It's rank, as per usual.

What makes Dembele any more suited than Slimani in this position like? An SPL/Championship striker.

It's more the ambition being shown despite us being desperate like.

Don't we need a new owner before we can expect to see any change in that direction?

If he wants to sell the club it's in the best interests of that cancerous slug that owns us to keep us in the PL rather than saving a few pennies.

We know Slimani's s***, so I'd go with Dembele.

Look what happened the last time we signed a young striker who scored goals in a lesser league and relied on him to stay up.

Lascelles, Gayle, Merino, Yedlin, Ritchie, Atsu, Hayden are all players I'd say are better. Naturally I'd also include Mitro, but he never gets to play, so yeah  I'd even be inclined to say that Saivet is better, based only on his last appereanced. Fuck Shelvey.

Comparing the Scottish league to the Belgian one is flawed as well, as the Belgian league at least has some good teams in it. Scottish league is four spots beneath Azerbaijan on the UEFA league rankings, fwiw

How the fuck is Hayden better than Shelvey?

Like what attribute in his game is better? The only one I'll give him is hard work and trust he'll give his all.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for selling Shelvey in the long run when we can afford to do it, but as it stands we have a shit squad and Shelvey just so happens to be one of the better of our shit players.

Hayden has the same pass accuracy, better shot accuracy, zero red cards, for starters.

Shelvey has created three more chances though, to be fair to him.

'Zero red cards'

Clutching at straws there.

If he has the same pass accuracy then he needs to seriously improve it because 90% of Hayden's passes are 5 yards or less whereas a large chunk of Shelvey's are 40-50 yards.

They're both Championship players to me, but Shelvey has those Hollywood moments.

This seems a fair assessment. I'd say Shelvey was just a tiny bit better than Hayden if he wasn't such a liability card wise.

Shelvey on average passes 7 metres longer than Hayden. Hayden in turns plays in a more defensive position, so it's only natural he passes shorter.

Shelvey this weeks villain I see

He's quite blatantly better than pretty much all the players mentioned in the past few posts. Certain areas of his game are near enough second to none, why do Newcastle fans self-sabotage so much? He's not perfect, obviously, but he doesn't need to be ffs, we're a lower to mid-table (at best) Premier League club at present, we should be appreciating decent players like Shelvey not holding weird grudges against them.
