I Think its a good decision by rafa. Mitro has enough to keep his head while on the pitch. You couldn't really look up to him for inspiration if we are a goal down.

I'll just say it again, Rafa said on the BBC interview yesterday that Mitro and Gayle both wanted it, Rafa was thinking of doing a competition between them, but then at the end both players decided amongst themselves.

 

This is the most important thing, as long as Mitro is OK it's a fine choice.

Tbf I like Mitro but he let the club down on a number of occasions last season, certainly didn't earn the number 9. Good that we have this competition though.

I guess it would be a huge slap in the face to Gayle as the more senior strike (26 compared to mitro at 21).

 

Probably the correct decision but can see Mitro as No.9 in long run.

If we get off to a flyer there's no guarantee Mitro will be in the team after his 4 game ban. In an ideal world Gayle will have 4 or more goals by the time Mitro will be back from suspension and it would be hard to dislodge him

Can't see anyone getting more than Gayle this season, he's an out and out goalscorer, and I'm yet to be convinced either Mitro or Perez are. We should do a poll.
