Dwight Gayle (now playing for Hibernian)

Recommended Posts

Well this is all a bit crazy.

Well, we're not in the championship anymore, and can't rely on our quality to overcome teams. Rafa has insisted since we got promoted that this season will need the team to have a great mentality and a hardworking mindset.

Maybe they don't feel Gayle is working hard enough out there, and he might feel he shouldn't because it means it compromises his hamstrings. I can see how things might have gone this way.

This club man ... why this is all only just coming about with two days left in the window is beyond me. Unreal. God help us.

Let's replace an injury-prone footballer with Danny Ings.

He's supposed to be back looking decent, whoever takes a punt on him will either score or bust. You are right though, its out of the frying pan and in to the volcano, just think Ings has some serious talent whereas Gayle's limit is much lower.

Not sure what to think about this. From a footballing perspective, obviously not sure what's going on behind the scenes, I don't think I like it at all.

If he's psychologically hampered due to this injury, which is one among many he's had, surely that will be rebuilt with time? He can clearly sniff out a goal and if we were to get Origi, say, I'd say that limits our options rather than expands them, when we already have Joselu and Mitrovic.

Surely even we wouldn't sell without a replacement? Surely?

Don't think we would, although this is Newcasltle . This doesn't seem to be a case of the club going behind the managers back to sell him, Rafa seems to be driving it and is keen to do it.  Fucking last thing we need at the end of the window though, unless a much better striker is coming

In relation to the French news source, this has been taken from a Fulham forum:

But the journalist breaking the news Mohamed Bouhafsi is usually very well connected. He now has his own show on transfers on a leading French TV sport channel who covers the Premier League (SFR). So a rather credible source in my view.

Anyone know if that is the case? Is this chap credible?

Wonder if any of our fans will dare question Rafa if this ultimately goes wrong or will they all just find somebody else to blame as usual.

I'm with Rafa no matter what.

If he wants to move Gayle on it's because he knows that we will not have success with him leading the line this season. Maybe the level of effort in training etc has been ramped up this off season and it hasn't been good for him physically.

We are going to have to be disciplined and graft in order to succeed with the players we currently have, and that is not necessarily a bad thing either. We worked really hard from the first to the last man against West Ham, and it was a great and enjoyable performance.

Yeah, that guy is pretty reliable. Remember him breaking details about the Neymar deal well before other outlets.

Strange how he's got links with Fulham though.
