What has happened to him, he came back pre season either overweight or way to much muscle on top. Looked a ridiculous shape all bulk and tiny legs. He doesn't run as fast as he used to or put 100% into games because he's not confident in his body. Rafa would rather a lesser player who puts in 100%. afar Posted September 26, 2017 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Having watched most of the reserves game last night, there were some good signs, he was running onto chances trying to get in behind, taking pop shots at goal, and even scored a goal that was disallowed for a questionable offside. There was little quality in the reserve side to find him, unlike what he had with Shelvey last seaons, and the game did highlight how little he offers to the team when he's not scoring. He'll be completely out of favour soon and go in the summer for buttons. It was always going to be tough for him in this division with us not creating so many chances, but I fancied him to battle and do well. Looks like his fitness is hampering him giving it a real go, which is a real shame because he seems like a great lad imo, and was brilliant for us last year. Infinitely Content Posted October 15, 2017 Share Posted October 15, 2017 Yep, shouldn't be on the bench over Mitrovic - he's utterly pointless playing for us in this setup. He had a simple pass to play to Shelvey at the end which would put Jonjo through on goal and he didn't have the quality to play it. Mitrovic finds Shelvey there imo.
