Mitrovic wasn’t here though, chances are that an unknown striker will be better than Gayle anyway if we’re spending that.

Ritchie scored more goals than Kenedy from when Kenedy arrived in January. Ritchie is a model pro. £15m isn't even that much these days. NUFC bought him for £12m. Why would he want to go back to the Championship?

 

There's a lot of players I'd sell before Ritchie. I suppose it depends who other clubs are interested in buying.

It only makes sense if Kenedy is coming in or someone Rafa wants is. But given the club's history at getting deals done, I doubt both.

I've been very critical of him and don't rate him anywhere near as high as most do but clearly we shouldn't be selling him unless there's a deal in place for someone better.

 

Which the history of this club under Ashley suggests won't happen.

Preferably we shouldn't be getting rid of any of Ritchie, Mbemba, Mitrovic and Merino. They're all PL quality and we need depth just as much as we need to bring in new players. Shipping out Ritchie would particularly be a travesty. Not that he's such a great winger, we should actually be looking for a replacement for him in the starting XI but he's obviously a leader in the dressing room and he's perfectly capable as a back up.

Man, that'd be a blow. He's a strong character and the more of those we have, the better. I like having him in the team as he's capable of scoring and creating chances.

I do think he is replaceable. The only question is can we get better for the 15m we generate from the sale.
