Matt Ritchie (now playing for Portsmouth)

I've been very critical of him and don't rate him anywhere near as high as most do but clearly we shouldn't be selling him unless there's a deal in place for someone better.

Which the history of this club under Ashley suggests won't happen.

Preferably we shouldn't be getting rid of any of Ritchie, Mbemba, Mitrovic and Merino. They're all PL quality and we need depth just as much as we need to bring in new players. Shipping out Ritchie would particularly be a travesty. Not that he's such a great winger, we should actually be looking for a replacement for him in the starting XI but he's obviously a leader in the dressing room and he's perfectly capable as a back up.

Why are we still getting the year 2006 transfer amounts for players we sell, when everyone else is getting insane amounts for reserve/championship players.

We are so crap at transfers (fees),both buying and selling.

Ruthless or not, I would be fucking astonished if Rafa wants to sell Ritchie. First major signing he made and he's been a revelation. Ever present for the last two seasons; crucial in and off the pitch to both promotion and consolidation. He's one of the last players we want to be selling, even if he perhaps needs phasing out a bit.

Fuck this transfer window, like. So, so negative.

In favour only if we've got something lined up. Which we obviously haven't. He was good for the second half of the season and should command a higher fee imo.

He’s also the ideal squad member. Tries hard regardless, covers a couple of positions.

Can only think his wages are larger than the average which again, like needing to sell shouldn’t be an issue, in this league.
