Is he like completely gone as a player? Can’t we get rid for £1m and that £1m go towards subsidising his wages to get a move.

If this link is true, NUFC still owes him around ~$2m all together for the rest of this season and next season.  He'll never make anywhere near that much again, so there's not much incentive for him to take anything less.

still 2 years left on his contract - on a reported £51k a week.  Does he train with the reserves?

Just goes to show 50k a week is still a hefty salary for sides outside the top half of the Premier.

Am amazed no championship side hasn't come in for him although maybe his wages would be a sticking point and he doesn't want to take a lower one.

Why couldn't we loan him out and split the wages with the loanee team?  Even splitting it unevenly, it would be better than us paying him the full amount to do nothing as we are now.

That should add at least £25 to his transfer value.

Bringing it to a grand total of *checks notes* £25

Local newspaper reports down here saying a loan deal will be finalised sooner rather than later.

Errgh. Can’t believe that deal he signed.

Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has joined Championship side Portsmouth on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The 29-year-old, who has 171 Magpies appearances to his name, had temporary stints with Standard Liège and Queens Park Rangers during the last campaign.

Hayden, a Jamaica international, has now made the switch to Fratton Park and will link up with former United team-mate Matt Ritchie on the South Coast.
