DeAndre Yedlin (now playing for Inter Miami)

Recommended Posts

Yedlin is a better right wing back but Anita is a better defensive right back.

This.

It's the same on the left side, Dummett clearly a better defensive left back while Lazaar is a left wing back.

Don't think we've seen enough of Lazaar to say he is a good anything.

I'm not sure if Anita really is better defensively TBH, and I like him a lot as a player. Yedlin has great recovery pace and is much better in the air.

Personally I would be playing Anita in CM anyway, but that's another story.

Centre midfield... aaaaargh! I really prefer him as a wing back, has looked much more at home in that position. Got sick of him being overrun/bullied in the midfield and my peepee boiled every time he tried for a header...

Five weeks according to Ryder.

Bollocks. International break might've came at a good time for us then.

I'd see he's our most important player behind Shelvey, Gayle and Ritchie.

Shame Anita was so fucking shite against Fulham. He'd looked perfectly capable at right back earlier in the season but Yedlin has clearly been a miss since he got injured.

Maybe he was just rusty.

I hope so. He was caught out of position time and time again (not only when they get in behind and scored) it was worrying.

Or just an off day. He was fine away at Huddersfield.

Concur with "bollocks". Will be a real miss.

5 weeks from when he got injured or 5 weeks from now?

Now. Been to see a specialist in LA.

Sounds like he might be back for Preston if things go well. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see him again this season tbh.

:undecided:

I fear you might be right about not seeing him again this season too, seems like it could be one of them injuries which ends up being 'another week or two' after the 5 weeks have passed.

DeAndre has been in LA this past week and examined by our team doctors.

We realise he is not going to be able to go to these next two matches against Honduras and Panama.

It is likely he will be out for about five weeks.

I would expect he will be back on the field for Newcastle right at the end of this season in April.
