Jayson
Rafa's grind out 1-0 mentality will absolutely never work for NUFC. He needs to change. ASAP. Gayle missed a one-on-one and Diame scuffed a sitter! That's why we didn't win. While that's true, the reason we didn't create more chances like that was because of the sit deep and soak up pressure attitude. We'll drop more points than we'll keep with this mentality. We deserved everything we got because of the mentality, there's absolutely no reason considering how s*** they were in the first half to sit deep and give them the confidence to get back into the game and invite pressure on us. People keep saying this but it's the way we've played all season, take the lead & then hit them on the counter. It has worked in every other game, we hadnt lost a single point after taking the lead till today.

Don't think we intentionally sat back. We were still going for it until Yedlin got injured and then had to awkwardly switch it up. Naturally got pegged back, IMO. Not that his subs helped the situation.
louistoon
Looked so organised and solid again till the end. Gayle on his own Dosent work and Mitrovic looks so slow so don't know what the answer is up front. Still look good enough for top 2 though Whilst we should still be around the top two, we are in no way majorly better than anyone at the top end of the league. Going to be a battle all the way. Don't agree with this. Only one of the two teams playing today will be challenging for promotion. We were clearly the better side we just need to fix our strike force

SSFC
Probably get members crying here, but sick of this defiance from Rafa sticking with this one up top bullshit. It's not working that well, And it's hardly necessary in this league to play with one up top, when on paper or spend wise have one of the strongest back four's in the league. Gayle needs Mitrovic next to him so he can make dummy runs pick up scraps and give opposing back 4's something to think about with both strikers in the box,Diame isn't offering anything as a number 10. Also if your playing one up top, why keep starting games with the smallest figure? We have Mitrovic & Murphy both over 6ft, but choose the 5"8 Gayle? We just don't appear adventurous in this league, I thought end of last season we would be really aggressive going forward in this league, bully sides, but it doesn't appear so. Can't really pick on players, because I'm starting to think it's how we are setting up. Agreed. Cant understand why he insists with one up front. Diame is in very poor form and needs to take a step back for a bit. Bring him on later in a game or something. You would expect to be on the front foot most of the time. Put them under pressure. Gotta try it at some point. Literally all of the strikers are in piss poor form.

Not like this, the only other game i have seen where we sat this deep and invited pressure without actually closing down the opposition was Derby and they were clueless. Deuce
I'd consider starting Murphy tbh Cheick Tiote on the field and we're considering starting Daryl Murphy next game. Ugh. He knows the league, looked decent enough at the weekend. And we clearly need a physical presence up front (with a strike partner).
Guest neesy111
We invited that pressure 2nd half. Ball retention last 30 minutes was abysmal.

We were an absolute class above them for the majority of the game, today, as was the case vs. Brighton.

Robster
We have to win now on Wednesday against Norwich. Lose to them and we have some massive catching up to do. There's 2 automatic spots. I'm not particularly fussed about being Champions although it'd be preferable. It's still just September. Loads of points to play for yet.
Dan
I don't think there was much wrong with the tactics today. Not taking our guilt edge chances and the injury to Yedlin cost us. Diame needs dropping.

Dave
So the atmosphere in the Holte End was surprisingly good, all things considered. Definitely helped their players, they needed a foothold and the disallowed goal gave them one. The goal was coming for absolutely ages. They deserve credit for coming back into a game they were almost dead and buried in, considering their last few years it would have been easy for their heads to drop. Anyway, it's probably a fair result but certainly two points dropped for us. We were a class above in the first half but didn't make it count. The misses from Gayle and Diame absolutely would have seen their heads drop and as such were unforgivable. Simply not good enough at this or any level. Disappointing. Jayson
It really does feel like we lost today More annoyed than the actual losses we've had, games like that are horrible. You're waiting just praying you hold out watching the minutes, you can tell when a game swings against you. The injuries, changing formation etc can feel you're waiting for it. s**** when it happens. So the defiance I said is true. We won't go up comfortable if his stance isn't altered. You can't play the same format all season you'll get found out, like sides are starting to see. Oh it's Newcastle who chuck a midget up top on his own, and stick with 4231 all the time, fucking 2 holding midfielders is nearly as bad as one up top in this league. Keegan gung ho please.......
