At least offsides are a basically black and white decision. Sanchez looks offside for the last goal as well That is what it should only be used for, or if a foul is inside or outside a box. Agree to a point but what if the replay shows it wasn't a foul? Original decision stands, the referee has given the foul but he's wanting clarification of whether it was inside the box or not. The whole thing that needs to be sorted out are the rules around it and the process of making a decision. The referee watching the game needs to be proactive and understanding where they will be called for, for me they seem very bone idle at the moment hence why decisions are taking too long. There's only 3 defenders there. The LB is the one right in front of him (whoever it is playing the ball) aye I've just watched it. So yeah, just an embarrassment all round then. That's a good point that I hadn't thought of. Then would a challenge system when a team gets a challenge each be better, teams would only use them for when blatant mistakes have been made and you would only get a few challenges a game so little disruption to the game overall. As usual FIFA have implemented it an absolutely shambolic way. If you get the process right then imo, decisions should only take a matter of seconds to decide for stuff like offsides. Anything that's marginal still goes with the on field umpire. System works well but maybe needs a couple of tweaks like the % of the ball that has to be hitting the stumps for it to be umpires call.
