Mole_Toonfan
I still can't believe how early that championship team of the season was announced. Was a 1/4 of the season left to play. I can because they do this every year with the PL stuff.
Stottie
Regarding that team of the season, does any striker in the league come close to Gayle for goals per minute played and goals created by his own pace?
SMTW
Ritchie. No need for a second vote. Pulled us over the line past few months. Stepped up when it mattered.
gazza ladra
Shelvey and Ritchie.
shintonsghost
Simple decision, the man who made it all tick and made us look rank shite without him. Shelvey
Rebellious
Ritchie being the obvious one, Clark for a close second.
Cronky
Gayle, in a heartbeat. He's proved to be a really good all-round striker and his goals were vital in getting our promotion campaign going.
Wallsendmag
Ritchie without a doubt. He's crucial to our team.
Kanj
Ritchie. Would have been Gayle if he stayed fit all season. Maybe Gayle takes first half and Ritchie second half. We'd not be where we are today without the two of them carrying us in both halves imo. Special mention to Clark who'd easily deserves to be in the mix. matta
Voted clark. We just looked so poor without him. Same also stands for Shelvey and Gayle. And Ritchie has been good/great. Hayden too.
TRon
I think Gayle being out is probably affecting the outcome of this. Definitely. We were cruising to the title when Gayle was fit. Ritchie's been brilliant so I can understand if the vote goes to him, but with Gayle we were KO'ing teams even when we were on the back foot.
Dan
Shelvey and Ritchie.
UncleBingo
Clark and Ritchie for me, although Gayle would have won it if he'd played all season. Overall, I've been a bit disappointed in Shelvey in a all honesty. I think someone with his ability should have been dominating games more, especially in this league. He hasn't looked the same since his ban for some reason, whether it's to do with Gayle being out or just our style of play changing.

At times this season he looked a class above everyone else in the division, but he's went missing a bit during our dodgy patch. His corners have been fucking woeful. Figures 1-0 Football
Clark, for me. He's been immense from start to finish and it's no surprise that we struggled without him. I'd have said him or Ritchie, but Ritchie has had some real stinkers like whereas I think Clark has been consistently good all year. He also arrived with zero expectations, whereas we all knew Ritchie was a class player at this level.
BrickTop
Ritchie. I would love to still argue a case for Shelvey but the last month or so has compounded the huge drop in his performances since Christmas.
Mattoon
Richie has been the stand out player, has played a majority of games though, one or two others could have pushed him if they'd have stayed fit as long but he nicks it for me.
NUFC_Chris
Interesting, thought this would have been closer. Also went for Ritchie, he's been the stand out for me. Every game this guy has ran his heart out, working the line in attack and defence and scored 16 goals which is a huge achievement.

Gayle was very close for me too, but obviously a lot of people are thinking along the same lines. Gayle very good, Ritchie better.
Ryan
1) Ritchie 2) Gayle 3) Clark imo. If Shelvey had kept up his form pre-ban he would've been my choice, was sheer quality the first 4 months or so of the season.

Altamullan
Changed my vote from Ritchie and Clark, to Hayden and Clark; know it makes no difference, but think the lad deserves to be 'mentioned in despatches' even if he doesn't get a medal.
Paully
1 - Ritchie 2 - Gayle 3 - Clark It would have been Gayle bar those injuries - he's only started 26 matches!
