only possible upside of this is that hopefully Pardew is implicated in it somehow and goes to prison

And gets a cell with a randy pervert.

Purple aki with a years supply of viagra and pumping him full of roids every day wouldn't be bad enough for that odious cretin

Does anyone remember what punishment Rangers suffered for tax fraud?  They were put out of business partly due to the fine, but were there any points deductions relating to the tax case, or did there new status in a lower league just come about because they went bust?

lower league status was because they were a new club that bought the whole brand of rangers, so to speak. So they had to re-enter the scottish league again.

Their tax affairs were completely different, they were exploiting a loop hole to pay players via trust funds and not PAYE.  Don't see any similarities at all.

If they were found to be guilty of fraud by hmrc and the sfa gave a penalty because of this, the nature of the fraud may not matter?

Anyway, seems they went bust due to not being able to afford the tax bill following that problem, before any penalty could be given by the sfa
