Pre-Season 2018/19: Newcastle United 0 - 1 FC Augsburg (FT)

Went to the game today and all in all, it was your standard pre-season game where not a lot really happened but nevertheless a decent runout.

Thought we looked ok in the first half - Shelvey looked up for it and Mitrovic held the ball up decently and took his goal well. Aarons and De Jong tried to make things happen but ultimately their impacts were minimal, unfortunately. Diame was non-existent unfortunately.

In terms of the second half, thought we looked a lot more dangerous with Gayle on and our general play was a lot better. Murphy had 2 good runs at the full back on the left and right wings and looked rather decent but overall, it was just the case of him having a runout - the signs for him are promising though.

Really liked the look of Lejeune at CB, despite it being his header which gave the Preston player the goal, he looked solid.

Looked like Gayle had been working on his physical upper body he looked beefed up. The new CB Lejeune looked pretty solid. Mbemba at RB was no use. Yet second half Clark at LB seemed ok? We had some fairly decent chances and plenty of possession but as the game drew on looked like neither side was going to get a winner. Agree with you on Diame and De Jong.

Was a good turnout from our support they gave double allocation so we were able to sit anywhere.

De Jong is the happiest man in the world at just being outside

The size of Hanley there! Even compared to LeJeune..

He'd nearly be worth keeping just for the Stoke game.

Aarons chopping the bottom of his kit socks off and wearing a pair of white socks underneath is all kinds of wrong.  Probably the reason for all those injuries.
