Newcastle Fan Posted January 4 Share Posted January 4 I can never be too upset with Murphy, for all his limitations he's contributed to getting us into the champions league twice and assisted the winning goal in the cup final, he will have good games and bad games but i am more disappointed with the fact that his 55m replacement looks far worse than he is. Because he's always got that perfect cross/delivery in him at any time, and that's why his states for assists are as good as they are. midds Posted January 4 Share Posted January 4 You can see he's trying his best but his general play was awful today, couldn't get it under control, lost possession, dwelt on it too long, couldn't get his crosses in, struggled to beat his man etc. He kept going to his credit but his numbers are going to look horrendous in May. He's not got Isak on the end of things this season and hasn't built that relationship up with either Wissa nor Wolt yet. He has great attributes but when opposition teams correctly play him and don't allow him space in behind his limitations, particularly his inability to go past a player with the ball, are really highlighted. Sandrotastico Posted January 4 Share Posted January 4 Weak, bottles all 50/50's, cant pass, cant control a ball, ball watches, sleeps on his full back cover, jogs back when defending - But can cross a decent ball. Needs replacing or needs to work harder on the basics of putting more effort into the above. Possibly one of the worst performances I've seen today, not sure he completed one pass to a teammate.
