He did alright today coming on. Far better linking with Almiron than Ritchie.

Called it last week:

Although he's been utter shite this season I actually think Kenedy at left wing back rather than Ritchie would benefit Almiron - Ritchie's instinct is to go down the line and cross the ball in. If you watch the games again, the times when Ritchie ignores Almiron are when he's asking for the ball down the line, where Ritchie himself wants to end up. Kenedy is more comfortable coming inside onto his 'weaker' foot and makes less linear, formulaic runs, so that flexibility of movement would probably see Almiron getting the ball more.

Having said all that, Rafa might want Ritchie to make those down the lines runs, in which case Almiron needs to find space elsewhere which will come in time.

Still not sure Kenedy quite deserves a start over Ritchie yet but i'd love to see it

Weird because he’s made a couple of good sub appearances against Cardiff & Everton. Can’t be worse than Ritchie.

Well he can be.  Ritchie does frustrate me at times but the criticism of him is way OTT.

Disagree. Think he’s below average at this level. I’d sooner have used this run of games to see if we can salvage something from Kenedy. Either way we need to replace him this summer.

His delivery on Sat was good - just finishing was awful

You only need to watch the Cardiff match to know that Kenedy can very much be worse than Ritchie.

Kenedy is a good player who simply didn't manage to get going this season after his bad form early on. I certainly don't think he's as bad as had been made out at times; he was expectional for us last year however for £30m, £20m or even £15m - our money can be spent elsewhere on the squad where it's really needed.

He's played 86 minutes of first team football since Christmas despite, to my knowledge, being available the whole time. Rafa clearly has no faith in him, and based on his performances that is warranted. They'll never get anything close to £30m for him from anyone.

I agree, I wouldn't even give £3m. No point if he's not being used anyway.

But what's the point if he's not being used anyway? He got lots of time on the pitch first half of the season but is rarely even included in the squad these days. That wouldn't change no matter how much or little he costs. Use it on someone else instead.

This is a good example of why I'm not nearly as against loans as so many seem to be. Could've spunked £20m down the drain on this guy.

You say that as if the reason for the loan is to test him out and then pay the going rate if we like him.
