Shearergol
Man United need to spend BIG on a striker if they want to utilise Mount to his best ability.

I doubt so many teams will give them so much space to counter this season as well. It will be interesting to see how they get on.

Don't Man U generate the most income out of all English clubs? So basically you could say the most in the world since the PL is the richest leage in the world now. How on earth have they managed to fall foul of FFP?

Yep which is why they are low balling Inter for Onana. They’ll have limited funds for a striker otherwise. Interesting to see who they go for as even Hojlund feels like he’ll be prohibitively expensive.
Guest
He's a good player just not sure he improves them. Obviously more depth now of course.

Let's hope they don't suddenly end up selling a batch of players to the Saudi league then, we were saying the same about Chelsea a year ago.

gbandit
I can’t stand Man U but in spite of the spending during the Glazers era, the Glazers are utter parasites. Owners like them are awful for football

Once again ignoring them spending €75m on Di Maria, €60m on Martial, €105m on Pogba, €84m on Lukaku, €59m on Fred, €63m on Fernandes, €87m on Maguire, €85m on Sancho, €57m on Martinez, €70m on Casimero, and €95m on Antony, when was the last time they spent over £50m on a player? Good season incoming me thinks. Few disappointing likes on this post. Shame.

Owners like them are awful for football I've said in years gone by they feel like a larger scale Ashley in that they're just leeching off an even more sure thing of a club, keeping it ticking over for profit with no genuine aspirations of progress. I'll still laugh at Froggy every chance I get, though.

Pointing to our spend is proper idiotic nonsense. We spend within our means based on our revenue. £500m odd net spend over the last five years, but our revenue has been over £2b in that time. It's all relative. I don't mean TBG by the way, he's smarter than that. He knows what he was at. Cash reserves have been bled dry over the years and now people are shocked we're having FFP difficulty.

GeordieDazzler
Do you think the Glazers are serious about the takeover Froggy? It’s always felt to me that they are only interested in walk away money - getting offered vastly over what could be considered a reasonable value for the asset. The Qataris have money to burn but probably aren’t in the business of having the piss took out of them. The whole thing has felt like a non starter from the off. Kanj
@Froggy as you probably know, I am a Bucs fan, and despite the 2 Super Bowls and the Glazers spending money a few times to make us a contender - I still wish they'd sell us up too.

Froggy, you can't be disappointed with the money spent on players, surely? It's pie in the sky dream stuff for 99.99% of clubs in the world. Can understand if you didn't want those players or you thought some of those players weren't value for money but, come on. Plenty of coin spent by one of the richest clubs in the world.
