Reeks of Ashley that sort of business. Get a news article out there about doing your utmost to sign an amazing player, wait for the transfer window to come round. Haggle for months over a few quid for an uninspiring signing, sign Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (on loan) on deadline day. The new Man U

Could well be click bait, but a ridiculous state of affairs if so.

Yeah, it's pretty shite. Got to make it as easy as possible for Man Utd to retain their place in the top 3-4.

Most likely true since Purslow seems now be on our side after years of demonising the takeover.

Been keeping an eye on this story as a German international joining a club in the championship relegation zone would be a coup.

Sheff Wed manager has done really well since taking over and wanted to sign Schulz so could have lost a lot of credibility.

Sheffield Wednesday's women's groups wrote an open letter to him and he's decided against signing him

Good luck shifting players on fat, 8 year deals. This was always the worry for them when they were doing it, people pointed it out but they knew best and Todd had a plan. Brilliant news they're now in the fucking shit, just hope it's all true, ridiculous way to run a football club

They’ll largely be successful doing so, too. No shortage of suitors lining up to snatch up their players over the past few years.

How do Arsenal get away with spending a kings ransom every season but yet raise nothing by way of media scrutiny?

While starting to rise more significantly now, their wages have been very low (relatively speaking).

This isn’t really true though.

In 21/22 they were significantly lower than the top four - but they were still fifth. The years before that they were third or fourth. They offloaded some high earners…but they had to, because they’d just finished 8th two years in a row and hadn’t finished in the top four since 2016.

Then cut to now - I believe they’re back to third, behind Man U and Man City. The wage to turnover ratio in 21/22 (remember, their lowest relative wage bill in God knows how long) was excellent but still not as good as Man City ( ) West Ham or Spurs.

They were relatively low - relative to only four other teams - for a year or two. Still higher than everyone else. Relatively very low compared to Man City and Man U I guess so…well done?

Relatively low for their revenue. I was only commenting on why they are generally fine for FFP, not the North London dick measuring contest.

Is it April 1st?!

They've wanted him for ages. Would be a good level for him.
