Also they’ve flogged a few to City - Adebayor, Clichy etc - presume they were pre the era where City were throwing £40m+ about

joeyt
It's funny how we don't bat an eyelid these days at a team like Fulham just dropping £35mil on a player

Nucasol
Mad how their 2nd largest sale was in the 90s - 2/08/99.

It felt relevant to us for ages because Owen remained our record signing for about 15 years and that perfectly summed-up Ashley's approach. But these lists lost any real meaning after the PL broadcast deal took around a 70% increase in the mid-teens.

Yeah, feels like this opportunity has presented itself to Fulham based on the fact that he's potentially perma-crocked. If I was a Fulham fan I'd be a little nervous about this one. Yep, said it before, this will be the ultimate downfall of PSR etc I reckon. It'll be fuck all to do with anything other than the PL's greed, when they realise Sky are getting twitchy. Yorkie
Sky have gained a whole new deadline day to broadcast and dramatise though, which probably helps.
AyeDubbleYoo
Seems obvious that PSR is bad for the PL product, starving itself of money and glamour. Sadly the PL isn’t a company with a single strategy and operates with this weird members club approach, producing some odd decisions.

If players start doing the off to the continent due to PSR you can bet the premier league will be looking for changes quick sharp 😂

Wow, that deadline where clubs have to get those 3rd and 4th choice goalkeepers over the line, or swap 18 year olds who nobody has ever heard of. It'll get boring fast, if it hasn't already. The College Dropout
It’s not the transfer window they will care about. It’s the product. Tbf a system that is rigged for the existing top 6 is good for Sky. A crap Man U is a bad thing for them.
Joelinton7
Sessegnon back to Fulham. Barely 24 he’s been around since we were in the champ with Rafa. Strange career

Strange career I had stocks in this lad but it’s gone horribly for him. Both him and the Portuguese lad did great things as teenagers in the Champ for Fulham - joined top 6 clubs and never got anything going. It’s better to stick at those clubs or join a West Ham type club. Young lads don’t get minutes if they don’t perform at top 6 clubs. Your Palace’s and West Ham’s usually won’t have as much competition and will play you through some rough patches.
