ToonArmy1892
Can we have a poll of whether people think he'll stay or not?
Infinitely Content
Think he will stay beyond this season, how long nobody can say. But I don't think he'll be backed enough to move us into the top 8 with any regularity, we'll steadily improve though and don't think we'll be fighting relegation having Rafa and this current squad from the beginning of a season. Either way, whilst he's at NUFC I feel proud of supporting the club, he's brought a sense of class and professionalism back after some disgusting appointments we've endured over the last 7-8 years. STM
With Rafa, there's a much better chance of us fluking (wrong word perhaps), a top 6 finish or doing something a bit special. At worst, we will stay in the league.
Guest covmag
Be genuinely amazed if he stays. But then again...

Ikon
Love having him as our manager, but at the same time I'm sick of him being let down time after time, just like us. Wouldn't be surprised either way really even If I doubt it'll be long term as the next crash is always gonna be just around the corner. Will be sad if/when he leaves, but also "happy" in a way. Crazy thing is that even if only being given ok backing I feel like he could build something special given some time.

Ketsbaia
I think Ashley will say just enough to get that signature. When he doesn't stick to his word though....
Tribesman
Benitez's first match as permanent Newcastle manager was away to Fulham in the Championship and his last match will likely be away to Fulham last match of the season. I think there is a chance he will stay, but based on that narrative I think he will leave.

xLiaaamx
"Newcastle tried to sign two young players last summer in potentially record-breaking deals, and both were blocked by the former Real Madrid manager." Yeah no, this article is all sorts of false.

Can't see this as Ashley has not stuck to his word throughout the 3 yers Rafa has been here. With Ashley in chanrge IMHO not a cat's hell in chance Rafa stays beyond the Summer. Anderson
Wonder if he's got any sort of aspirations of going back to Liverpool? Could see him sticking about here until Klopp leaves if so.

Anderson
Don't know, especially if they fall short this year, I'd back him to win a league there under their current owners.

I'm not sure it would work out because Liverpool also have a strategy of signing young players with resale value. I think Benitez's time at the very big clubs is over he just won't get the control that he wants.
huss9
"Newcastle tried to sign two young players last summer in potentially record-breaking deals, and both were blocked by the former Real Madrid manager." Yeah no, this article is all sorts of false. ffs. POTENTIAL record-breaking. that means £6m up front and then £10m in add-ons over the next 6 years depending on appearances, goals and reaching the champions league. so could have technically been tru but really absolute bullshit. Remember all those reports saying that the club didn't want to spend big because they wanted to save the money for the next manager if Benitez leaves so why were they lining up deals for Benitez didn't want and not knowing the next manager if Benitez leaves will want them or not? Think his best team at Liverpool was better than the Liverpool team is now, and the points you need to win keeps getting higher the last few years
