Some of the local press have been getting digs in at Rafa and it seems like several of our fans are following suit - "he was always leaving for the money" blah blah blah - utter imbeciles.

Guest Yerdas El Savon

He left us due to Ashley’s lack of ambition - fair enough and good on him.

But he joined Dalian for the money.

The core of the team and by that I mean the group of players who socialise together, almost all of them have been frozen out by Rafa at various points over the last two seasons. Hayden was in that group and he may well have been again at the start of this season if Rafa was still there. A half season in good form means nothing to that man.

If Shelvey was prepared to say what he said after the match on Saturday in public, imagine what he must have been saying privately.

Footballers are thick, have basically zero education and have never had to really work hard for anything or worry about the normal things people like us do.

Never make the mistake of thinking that their thought processes are the same as ours.

That’s wrong. They’re rich footballers due to the fact that they worked harder than anyone else.

That’s one of the thickest things I’ve read on here, or the internet for that matter.

All they have to do is keep themselves in shape, practice to keep their skills up and put in a shift once or sometimes twice a week.

They have their meals given to them. Have people sort out all their financial stuff and are basically finished work by early afternoon most days so they can spend the rest of their evening playing PlayStation.

If you’re on the wind up, well played. If not, you are an absolute cretin.

:dowie:

One of the most ridiculous things I have ever read.

You don’t have his achievements if you’re in management for just money

Rafa Benitez is probably one of the most achievement obsessed managers of the last 20 years.

He’s absolutely obsessed with every aspect of management and trying to improve sides.

I watched him on the touchline for Dalian and you couldn’t see a more passionate man trying to improve his team he isn’t a man that is just there for money he’s absolutely obsessed with doing the best job he can do.

He just didn’t want to sit on the sofa next season he wanted to manage.

We were the ones that pushed him away, he said in April after the Leicester win that he had sent his staying requirements about doing the right thing and he said they didn’t even respond till the summer and that it was like they hadn’t even read it.

Obvious who is at blame.

Keegan was the same in that he wanted to stay at Newcastle but not Mike Ashley F.C.

Aye, the reason the best are so good is because of the effort they put in to becoming so good from a young age.

Just out of curiosity (and not denying the hard work) but how many hours a week does a footballer typically work when factoring in training, matches, travel, other mandatory club activities?

Howay Rafa say your piece, put this fucka straight.

I think he's too dignified to get in a slanging match, he'll just say something cryptic about the fans knowing the truth and leave it at that.

Nah his dignity is in question (not to us who know) but to the bellends outside. He needs an "exclusive" to put the cunt right

Did more for the city and unity than anyone since Bob and KK.

No wonder ‘mike’ hates him. A top bloke against an utter sociopath who enjoys nothing more than fucking people over and has to buy his mates.

I really wish he would do a Keegan.

His quotes about what it was really like working under Ashley were and still are to this day so powerful

I think Rafa has to respond. Ashley made some pretty specific accusations against Rafa, saying that he almost scuppered the Joelinton deal, had already made his mind up to go to China, turned down an eight year contract, and basically did a runner when Ashley was finally in the position to give him as much money as he wanted for players, including £23m out of his own pocket to secure the deal for Joelinton.

He doesn't have to go into specifics himself, but he can at least call Ashley out on his lies.

Course he doesn’t, he’s gone. He doesn’t have to deal with thickets like Ashley, Charnley and their hoard of fans. Anyone without severe issues knows who is in the right and who is the decent man, the others aren’t worth bothering about.

Rafa, phone George and put the record straight!! although we all know the truth we just need someone with a voice, respect and relevance to put the fat creep in his place...

Rafa doesn’t need to say shit. Why even defend yourself against a proven liar who on the day his publicly traded company delayed its earnings release until after market closed, lost its CFO, and is being subject to a £600m+ tax bill - does an interview where he is rambling like he’s been on the drink to a national newspaper.
