Parkerz
Leicester is closer to home for him and is currently a much better "project" unfortunately. It wouldn't be the greatest shock for him to be there once his contract expires. Think that's a good call actually :'( I think he likes as us fans though and our passion and commitment. Sees parallels with the scousers for some reason. Not sure he’ll see Leicester fans in the same way but I agree that the pull of being closer to home and actually being allowed to compete for honours like a normal football club could be a big draw for him. Don't confuse his love of fans with enjoying the £££ more. I doubt he gives two flying f***s for the fans here or anywhere he's been. f*** off you c***, don't care if I get banned for this, what an utter cretin you are if you believe this. Go suck Ashley off! Deary me! I would like to apologise to anyone who was offended by this comment. I think I should not have used this language. The sentiment in the post is still unchanged though
LV
Didn't we get our money back for Hanley? TransferMarket says we lost £3m on him. Did his job to help get us promoted, so i reckon we made far more than we lost. Not that the morons running the club will see that way. Hanley was sound. Did his job, never moaned, helped us get promoted. No problems with him. Hanley did moan a bit iirc. Wanted to play and I don’t blame him a bit for it. Guest chopey
Just watched SSN with Rafa, he's not giving Ashley the lickings of a dog
steve_69
Obviously those figures include money recouped for players he didn't waste money on but from his transfers left at the club I reckon: Could sell for profit on fee paid: Dubravka, Lejeune, Yedlin, Schar, Hayden, Gayle, Ki. Could sell for around same fee paid: Fernandez, Astu, Ritchie, Diame. Could sell for small loss on fee paid: Manquillo, Murphy, Muto, Joselu, Lazaar. Ki and Schar were freebies can't fail to make profit on them Can't see making profit on Gayle either No he wasn't He's easily a £10-15m defender, if not more. Nobody
Fernández was on a free*, not Schär. *Ashley and Co does not approve. Think of the wages and signing on fee
Rich
Fernandez was £6m.
Nobody
Fernandez was £6m. Was he? Thought both Swansea lads were on a free. Not that I pay much attention these days mind.
Rich
Aye, think it was officially undisclosed (as per), but £6m region.

Sean
Also, the aim shouldn't always be to make money on a player. So many of our fans live in Ashleyland ffs.
AyeDubbleYoo
The aim should be to invest every penny the club earns to finish as high up the league as possible, every single year.
Joe_F
So get some players in Ashley you cunt.
AyeDubbleYoo
That's a lot more positive than I would expect TBH. Although him staying doesn't really solve anything unless we get a takeover anyway.
Away Toon
At this point it would be fucking tragic if Rafa stayed unless he has cast iron guarantees in writing about investment in the ground, training ground, academy and players. I cant imagine that Ashley would ever put that in writing and then it would be even less likely he would follow through with it. Rafa staying stops the supporters doing what they need to do, whether they will if he goes who knows.

4 stars out of 5
He's not f***ing leaving like, I'm telling ya. Called it ages ago. But aye it means nothing like and might even be detrimental in the long run as it will just be another few years of this
Guest neesy111
If he's not leaving why hasn't he signed a new contract?

HaydnNUFC
Think it translates to 'sign Almiron and another bloke in a position we need and I'll seriously consider signing another deal'. Those things probably won't happen unfortunately.

Tiresias
It's been clear for practically a year he was only going to stay with investment why do people act surprised? He has always been very clear that he will stay if investment matched his ambition and not if otherwise.
