The other games today 2018/19

But that’s what I’ve been trying to say. If it’s not intentional why does only his left arm go upwards? He knows what he’s doing.

Even this lad’s reaction. A decision like that if you thought it wasn’t a handball knowing what the decision meant, he’d be in outrage. His instant reaction after the decision was to put his head in his hands. He barely appeals at all its his team mates that do the shouting.

Your arms do tend to move when you jump like.

Weird how Veratti managed to pull his leading arm in to his body for Rashford's shot on Lukaku's 2nd goal

Pretty much same situation, shot hit fast from close range. Stuck his "wrong" foot up for the block and twisted/turned his body for the back to face the ball.  Except he had the sense to pull his arms in and fight the instinct to stick it out

So from here, the left arm goes up yet the right arm pretty much stays exactly on the same level of where the ball is travelling and he’s looking towards it. Those saying it was too close to react, how does one arm do so but not the other? He keeps it there as he knows the ball will hit him. Sorry like but still not seeing what’s not a penalty here.

The context is that he's turning his back on the ball. With that in mind his arms are in a natural position

The fact that that bloke says that he was looking at the ball up to a second or two before it hit him sums that argument up. A second or two before it hit him Dalot wasn't even lining up the shot. It happens in no time at all

I mean the first issue is that it's not a clear and obvious error. That's before you even discuss the merits of the decision.

Howay Ian, when has anything been rational and correct when it comes to following rules in football?

But in the ref’s mind it is a clear error. He’s missed what in his eyes is a handball.

Without discussing the merits of the decision, again, watch Kimpembe’s reaction. If he felt he didn’t handle the ball on purpose his reaction wouldn’t be to slump and put his head in his hands. He’d have been furious given that it’s effectively knocked them out.

If your arms were taken off and shoved up your arse or glued to your forehead then yeah, that's an unnatural position. While attached and able to move naturally, up, down, whirling around like a fucking windmill, they're all fairly natural as a human being if your arms don't fly off or dislocate

Maybe use the phrases, trying to stop the ball with the arm, 'Arm out' 'Arm up', making yourself a bigger blocker using the arms or whatever, some such phrase someone with a better mind can come up with. 'Unnatural position' just annoys me for a deranged reason in football,

Over to the pet hate thread i go

Using the players reaction really is tinfoil hat stuff.

It’s normally a good indication. Regardless, it’s a handball and penalty.

Quite the picture you paint there, Bimpy.  but do agree with you. Unnatural position is an awful term. Making yourself bigger is much better and makes sense.

Not everyone acts like a dick when a decision goes against them.

Intention should not be the overriding factor. Kimpenbe was blocking a shot and he blocked it using his hands. Either intentional or unintentional this was a critical factor affecting the shot which potentially could be a goal.

Penalty all day long for me. The “unintentional” factor doesn’t apply in this case.
