ponsaelius
Howe definitely has a blind/stubborn spot in terms of squad recycling to deal with PSR. He didn't want Wood to go either even thought it basically meant we could do the Gordon deal. I get it but we have to also work bigger picture. Kanj
Not sure a nominal fee makes any sense at this point. We’re charging up the table, and within a leg away from Wembley with our current first choice injured.

Holloway
Do you reckon that's why he was bubbling, cos Eddie wants him to stay but it's simply not possible

To be completely fair he's been really really good since he came in for Pope a month or 2 ago. I had my doubts based on his performances last season but he's barely put a foot wrong in the last 7 or 8 games he's played. He's been protected a lot form the 10 in front of him but he's still done the routine stuff really well. He's moving on and it'll hopefully be a bit of a boost to the finances but he's earned it, fair play

We should have made a difficult choice in the summer and tried to move on Pope. His value is only decreasing and we've seen how important having a goal keeper who doesn't panic when the ball is at his feet is. We simply can't allow players to run down contracts and leave on a free. We have to sell players and preferably ones who are replaceable.
Mazzy
I feel like we're all getting a little over the top about Dubs. It'll be sad to see him go but it's his time, if not for these last few games he'd have probably left this month anyway and no one would've cared much at all. Now obviously if he leaves we need another keeper in, so if we can't do that then he needs to stay but if a replacement is lined up then I'm all for it. He's a decent keeper but there's better out there. Just look at where Forrest are ffs, and they've got Sels in net, this run isn't all down to him. We made 4th with Pope for a whole season, we will be fine without him.

Vinny Green Balls
Is it odd? The dude can't help being cagey. Eddie probably drove him to the airport after the press conference. Edited January 8 by Vinny Green Balls

The Prophet
Overall he had a decent game, but he flapped horribly at a couple of set pieces. Great servant and wish him luck moving forward. It's a move that makes sense for all parties, providing Pope is fit and/or Trafford comes in.
Newcastle Fan
Wouldn't want Trafford to be honest, i'm happy to give Vlachodimos his chance as he's Greece's number one GK and looked decent whenever i've seen him for us. and we got Ruddy as third choice. Roha
I’ve not been his biggest admirer and I honestly wanted him to bore off after the manuer thing. But he has been pretty alright since Pope has been out, and honestly been better than Pope this season.

Kanj
There is nothing over the top about the praise he’s getting now and people not wanting him to go at this point in January when (1) We have no real clue when Pope will be back (2) Lack of confidence in goalies 3, 4, 5 in our pecking order (3) Martin’s performances since he has come in have been good and (4) his ball playing ability has been immense. I am 100% supportive of him moving on and wish him the best, but I do not want to do so without a competent #2 signed / loaned in who can step right into the team now or someone who is the future #1. Press reports have said the fee would be nominal, so I don’t find this to be a PSR master stroke (unless the fee is sizable). We are at a very crucial part of our season right now. Wishful thinking time, but if this is a Saudi club who are in for him, I’d like to think they can get a call from our Saudi ownership to work out a better deal here for us w/r/t timing of the sale. Shak
My guess is that we're confident that Pope will be back for the Wolves game, with Vlachodimos trusted to play against Bromley. Getting a bit of money for Dubravka now and bringing forward a Trafford deal that was probably pencilled in for the summer makes a lot of sense. If the plan is to just flog him on and hope that Pope doesn't get injured again then that's a different story and one that I wouldn't expect to be the case.
