Last gamble to get into the championship before the parachute payments run out?

Good luck with that, more sort of a loan to keep them afloat, these fuckers are marooned in the 3rd division now, spunked £4m on Will Grigg plus wages.

£10 million

If its a loan its a really unusual loan.

If they wanted to loan $10M, then there are plenty of financial institutions that would do this, as loaning money is a key part of their business. Why go to an Investment company, who did due diligence around a takeover and even setup a holding company, to just get a loan.

The current ownership structure of the SAFC holding company hasn't changed, but there is very likely to have been contractual stipulations around future ownership structure that was part of this investment.

Its fun to take the piss of how their amazing takeover has falled down into just a loan, but there has to be more changes in ownership coming than have currently been announced.

It seems the Don, who was initially welcomed as a messiah and said all the right things to get them onside, now can't attend matches as he claims he and his family are being abused.

Along with hounding out managers every six months or so they're not really living up to their self proclaimed title of being the world's classiest fans at the moment.

To be fair we can at least call it what it is, while these mongs actively go out of their way to laud Ashley as a genius, a great owner and how NUFC and the fans are at fault.

We shouldn't mock them for it as it's hypocritical, that's a logical thing to say, but when has logic ever played a part in football rivalries, banter and general hatred?

Personally I think fuck them. I hope this final roll of the dice fails and they end in administration and their club ceases to exist.

Sad that The Don, like Bob Murray, is fearful of his life.

Bob poured his money into the club and city but was rightfully glassed for giving his money to mag businesses and being a do-gooder.

Last thing we should do is laugh/criticise Sunderland fans for abusing a negligent/incompetent owner

Thing is they don’t care how well the club is ran, just so long as they winning, or as it used to be, be in the Premier League.

They claimed they boycotted under Short, which resulted in him selling the club. It wasn’t an organised boycott, it was the fact that they were playing poorly and getting their eventual relegation which resulted in them not attending. Not some sort of sweetness of the club being ran.

With their current owner, they loved him as they thought he was going to get them promoted to the Championship. It failed, and now they are against him as a bad owner. In all honesty the guy has cut their cloth accordingly, just they can’t accept that they are a League 1 team now. Even if they went up at the first time of asking, they would have turned on him for not going up again, assuming they failed in back to back promotions.

They do not care if the club is being ran well or not, all they care about is being on a level playing field to us, where they can use a stat to justify why they are better than us.

Short out money into them, however that money was wasted on the wrong mangers and wrong players. Because of this he’s a bad owner, yet Ashley doesn’t out money in to us and employs the wrong managers (Rafa aside) and mostly the wrong players, yet he’s a good owner. The reason being, because he has given Sunderland a chance to be on a level playing field to us.

There is no consistency with them. They have to always be better than us and worse done than us at the same time. They have always got to be the better of the two clubs with their hands tied tighter behind their back than ours, and any owner who doesn’t put them on a level enough playing field to make these claim look possible will always be condemned by them.

Stoke, Barnsley, and Boro all in the Championship relegation places at the moment. If those 3 went down and Sunderland didn’t get promoted, then next season could be very tough for them. No parachute payments, and more tougher teams to compete with.

Love this quote for anyone pretending otherwise...

"We had:

Our current top scorer

Our club Captain

Our Player of the Season

Our main man regarding creativity last season

Our current right back

Our current centre half

The bloke we took all summer to identify as our expected senior left back

The League's all-time record signing

Playing for us tonight. Nah, not first team at all."
