I thought he was fairly poor, tbh, by his ridiculous standard. It does not help that 90 percent of his teammates seems to be staring at him waiting for something to happen the majority of the match. What happened with the obvious penalty for Argentina that did not even get checked by VAR? I do not understand this thing at all? Does the referee ask for it or is it called for by the VAR referees? It seems bizarre. Aye, i was shocked how little initiative his team mates took tbh. It's like it was a bunch of kids looking up to their idol. Should take up the kind of positions Hazard does in Chelsea's 3-4-2-1. Start a bit wide and drift around from there. You seen how heavily he gets marked though? Players literally follow Messi around wherever he goes. Can't really compare him with Hazard, it's a different picture. I just wanted to see he him out wide at times also, where he would have had more opportunities to run at them and make something happen. Was way too central the whole match.
