Damn keep missing Japan goals, I was a little late in switching it on and had to pop down to the basement when they got their second, perhaps for Japan's sake I should go somewhere else for the next 10 mins or so.

Alex Scott is a class addition, get her on MOTD.

could not agree more

Prefer Eni Aluko but Scott has been good too aye

Would be excellent to see them both get more punditry jobs going into next season although Aluko is now playing for Juve apparently.

Tbh I feel like they've shown there's scope for better/different analysis to the usual PFM bullshit. Get some experienced sports reporters in as well, mix it up a bit rather than the usual bellends saying the same thing all the time. Helps that these two are great to look at I guess but that's not the whole thing.

I'm just bored of the same old ex-player merry-go-round. Aluko was sat beside Evra & Larsson and showed far greater depth in her insight, made cohesive points and was actually interesting to listen to. The other two just blabbered on a bit and you we're left wondering, 'so what was the point there'? They're also hideously lacking in self awareness and massively biased, and that's not just the two in question.

that was striking to me...forget the same but they both sat there and said team A have been better, aluko came next and said i disagree team B have been better for me and created the better chances...team B won it 2nd half...it was the serbia game iirc actually

shje just outright disagreed with their analysis, how often do you see that?

in fairness mind it seems dodgy to criticise the foreign lads too much overall considering they're doing their analysis in a 2nd language

Colombia can still qualify though, it's not the toughest of groups and they've got some quality. This will probably mean though they will struggle to win the group so if you want to avoid them in the r16, you probably want to finish 2nd in your group. Is it England's group that will face this one in the R16 ?

I know what you mean but they were both just being bellends tbh, nothing to do with lacking in vocabulary

And agreed about the way Aluko was happy to disagree entirely, you indeed hardly ever see that from the usual crowd.

Phil Neville clearly waiting for the stupid woman to shut up so he could say his part, only to say the exact same thing as what Alex Scott said.

Colombia look like they have a lot of individual talent, but there is a lot of errors in that team. Not sure how well coached they are, don't think they are a team that can go too deep in this world cup but you never know, they do have talent. Japan will go out at group stage if they don't improve in the second half, they need to win this game, will be psychologically a killer if they don't considering the circumstances.

Pekerman’s quite easily one of the better national team managers in world football. They’re also a man down, missing their best player, and are still the better team.

Didn't look like it on the evidence of the shape of the team on the Japan goal, but will bow to your better understanding of him. Like I said they have talent but a lot of errors in them and I agree they've been way the better side.

:yao:

Not sure what the face is for, but he's getting cruicified here on Canadian TV, for the subs he made, not particuarily the Cuadrado sub but the others. Like I said, I've paid zero attention to colombia so if you say he's great, then so be it, not a great start to the world cup though for them.

AS : "The Colombian coach was actually brave and he was throwing on attacking players, maybe at that point he's like, we've not control of this game, maybe I do need to be happy with the draw and bring on more defensive players".

PN : "His substitutions were actually really positive, Bacca & Rodriguez came on, I just wonder whether he should have just retreated and put on a couple of holding midfield players on and said right, we've went down to 10 men, get the point".
