It suggests to me that Ryder has been given indications Newcastle are fairly confident. Since when was Ryder privy to any inside info on the club's dealings? It's not about competing with anyone is it, it's when we know the asking price we bid under it on purpose. It's ridiculously transparent now and just fucking tiresome, why even bid when you know you're not being serious, the 'we tried' bit i suppose.
