Federico Fernández (now playing for Elche)

There was something in the air that night

The stars so bright, Fernandez

Best Argie stopper since Coloccini

Signed from Swansea, Fernandez.

Though we never thought that we could lose

There's no regret

If I had to do the same again

I would, Fe-de, Fernandez

I would, Fe-de, Fernandez

Sickening plagiarism.

It’s very hard to see how Lascelles gets back in this team now. Schär can’t be dropped either on current form.

When Lejeune is back and match fit, we could play 3 at the back. That’s how good they could be.

Schär pinging balls to the left wing, Lejeune pinging them to the right. And Fernandez the rock in the middle.

Literally the best collective set of central defenders I can remember us having. Great competition. I think 3 at the back is a formality. Rafa has talked about it.

                                Dubs

                Schar  Fernandez  Lejune

Yedlin    Shelvey    Diame    Ki      Kennedy

                              Muto/Ritchie

                        Rondon

Should probably give Perez more love.

Difficult to see how this plays out, because we have Lejeune also working his way back, Clarke playing well, Fernandez proving he's the one to take priority, Lascelles and Schar not far behind.

Wish we had these problems in the striking areas.

Not concerned about how it plays out with the 5 of them as over a season injuries, suspensions, internationals and different types of opposition forwards will mean they all contribute. In fact seeing Fernandez and Schär who would not have been in most people's starting eleven at the start of the season illustrates their value perfectly.

When they're all fit it would be nice to have a decent cup run so they can all get the game time they deserve.

Swansea must have been seriously shit in other areas if they got relegated with him in their defense. I can barely believe how good he is.

What Disco said. Last season they conceded less than Watford, West Ham, Leicester, Everton and Bournemouth.

There was a point in the first half where a long ball came in and he controlled it with his chest then brought it out, he looked just like Glenn Roeder in his pomp, all that was missing was the shuffle.
