Still paper thin in midfield, no left back, no backup right back, no real number 10. Shambles. sterry is our back up right back Still Manquillo imo, who'll also be first choice back up to Dummett at LB. Sterry will play RB if both our full backs are injured or unavailable, as Manquillo plays at LB in that case. Shows just how appalling we are run, utterly woeful and pathetic. If both Dummett and Yedlin were out, I actually see Rafa putting Kenedy at LB and Manquillo at RB. But your last point still stands 100%

Elliottman
Prefer this guy to the Brazilian to be fair. Although looks as though this was forced on us since he couldn’t get work permit

He's probably a serviceable CB, but then when Rafa goes and Lascelles goes with him, we are stuck with him and no doubt he will become a regular. Yeah and we will likely have Sooty and Sweep as Manager and assistant, so is there really much point in worrying/caring? The object should be try to appease Rafa, till we can get shot of Ashley or at least pressure him into providing more financial backing. There should be a big campaign in the run up to the January transfer window really, as it will be the fans last chance to affect Rafa's viewpoint in terms of whether he can achieve his ambitions at this club. He likely wont think so currently and if Ashley doesn't budge what would there be to follow anymore? Yeah I know, but that's the point I'm making. I'm saying because people are saying "under rafa" and I'm saying he won't be under rafa for more than a season. I agree with what you're saying, was just pointing out that the problem is we then have these players under the next joker they get in. There is no problem with who we have under the next joker though, as we'd have the "next joker" undermining things anyway.

LRD
Once Lejeune gets back, I doubt we will keep 5 CBs on the books anyway. If he* gets sold end of the season for a profit, happy days yeah. If he gets sold as a loss, the difference's effectively a loan fee for one season. * Could apply to any of the CBs. Just hope it's not Lascelles. thenige
Would be happy to see the back of Clark to be honest, (although only when we have enough cover) which would kind of make sense given he and Fernandez would be the oldest of the bunch.

Flip
Weird signing. Already have Clarke, Lascelles, Schär, Lejeune (despite being injured) and Dummett that could possibly do a job as 4th choice CB. Really needed to improve other areas for this season. Paperthin across the midfield.

You can't go into a Premier League season with only 3 available centre halves. You can't go with only 1 left back either like but here we are. SEMTEX
I mean, Lejeune is crocked for the year, and Clark(NO E) is going to be frozen out. And Dummett has no legitimate backup. Also, we don't buy what is most necessary, we buy what we deem to be the best value.

We should be aiming to buy an LB instead of another CB imo. Dummett as a 2nd choice LB and 4th choice CB this season wouldn't have been too shabby.
