Miguel Almirón: Bid of £10m to be Accepted from Atlanta United (Hope)

Would never knock the lad , always worked his bollocks off and we wouldn't have finished 4th two years ago without him, he even scored our first champions league goal in over 20 years against PSG. He does seem to have regressed massively as a footballer this season though so 8.5 million would be an excellent price.

It's a massive shame that Barnes has got injured as that may give Mitchell and Howe cold feet to cut our losses here, which we really should do, especially considering (I bellieve) Almiron has another 1,5 years on his current deal and is on decent wages, which need to be reinvested into his replacement to help us push on.

I know it then weakens out midfield 3. But I’d rather move Joelinton or even Willock (stay fit please) wide if push comes to shove and we needed cover for a bit or to use them as a sub.

Based on his apps this season. They’d offer far more than Almiron there, anyway.

Bit of a risk with Barnes out. But if we have genuine offers on the table. He has to be moved on. It’s worth the risk.

Wtf is mls rights to negotiate about

I'm sure someone with more interest in the MLS can explain better, but from what I've read before, MLS teams can have a 'discovery' list of a few players that they get priority on signing if they become available.

So presumably since leaving the MLS, Miggy hasn't been on a Discovery list at some point, allowing Charlotte to add him to theirs. I think that means they could match Atlanta's offer if they wanted to and they'd become Miggy's only option in the MLS. But they're not that worried about him so they're giving Atlanta a free path to him.

Basically one of their attempts at levelling the playing field.
