Find that a bit crazy tbh.

I'd happily have him until the summer if we don't intend to replace this week.

I understand people not prioritising a replacement in this scenario. He gives you nothing now.

Why? He’s seldom been used this season, has looked ineffective when used and somebody is offering us about 10m. It’s a no-brainer of a sale.

Club needs to learn when to sell and this is a perfect example of them doing it, and doing it well.

We have options across the front three, I’m sure he won’t be missed going forward.

Because we are still getting the money even if the deal goes through at the end of the season. So actually, apart from his salary we'd be gaining a player and some degree of strength in depth more than fielding a youngster who has no experience at this level.

He gives you more than a space or a youngster with no PL experience though, surely.

Why would Atlanta agree to that?

There’s no guarantee of a sale in the summer.

Apologies, I had interpreted the tweet as the deal would go through at the end of next week. Then presumably we would have him until the end of the season.

And maybe just to ensure they got him. He'll do well out there again. Don't get the grief he gets tbh I find it all a bit weird.

I do find it strange how some on social media are kicking off that people are saying how he will be missed etc

He's played over 200 games for us, never complained and largely played with a smile on his face

Granted, there were frustrating moments, which is normal for a footballer but the sentiment should be a case of, good servant, thank him for his time and wish him well

He always puts in the effort and had a great purple patch, but I think he gets grief because fans don't think they should have to watch a premier league footballer run a full circle around the ball to get it onto their favoured foot only for them to misplace a pass, week in week out, which is fair

TBH, like I'm of the view that anyone who pulls on the Black and White top and gives the hard work and dedication Miggy does, then they're 100% worthy of my support. These lads don't have the responsibility to pick themselves in the first 11. They have the responsibility to give it their all when they do and he has. If they're shite then the club and the manager should upgrade.

Miggy has been a great servant for the club and his goal against Fulham (a) and that PSG one in particular are phenomenal moments and when people slate him I just find it all a bit silly. He absolutely is frustrating but he's played his part in our success as have many of the current squad, if not all.

If that's his limitation then definitely not worth getting angry about, I'm not talking about in the moment, for example people will during a match thread express frustration

However, when you step back, surely the overwhelming feeling should be a positive one

I think more grief is aimed at someone like Almiron than Joey Barton, yet as players they don't even come close

I’m not going to slate him. He never phoned it in and always tried hard. Didn’t have the talent of so many of our previous so called superstars who then flopped here. But twice the workrate and the right attitude.

But I’m not going to sugarcoat it, either. His numbers for a wide forward/winger are absolutely atrocious. Bar that half a season and the odd game. I can’t say I’ve particularly enjoyed watching him.

Also, it’s not his fault. But like quite a few of our players. Such as Wilson, Ritchie and even Dummett to a lesser extent. He has stayed here too long and the recency bias of how bad and past it he now looks hasn’t helped the situation.

Good fee for him, I presume it includes some add-ons.

He was the guy who was always first into training, always gave 100% and played with a smile on his face. I'm glad he got to go back to Atlanta and hope he does well there.
