Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

If (big if) that's the case and it's 8.5m then I think we'll snap their arms off. Pretty sure we accepted whatever was on offer for him earlier in the year but he turned the move down. Totally his perogative to do so but he's about as fringe as you can get and has no future here imo. He's just seeing out his contract whilst his value drops and drops. I think he'll run his contract out completely and go mls a month later

Love Miggy to bits but it's time to move on. If we can get a decent fee for him and it helps unlock some cash for us to upgrade in January then we have to take it.

Will always love him for that PSG goal :aww:

Never gave less than 100% and will be rightly remembered more fondly with time than the spoiled toddler elements of our fanbase will have you believe.

Worst is obvs too much when Alan Smith et al wore the colours but you take away his terrific engine / effort and bloody hell, outside of that 3 months….

6 assists though. How? [emoji38]

I think him being ‘Bruced’, as others have mentioned, is definitely harsh.  Games under Rafa - 10, goals - 0, assists - 0

The lad is a grafter and a likeable character and everyone enjoyed that purple patch, but for the vast majority of his time here he hasn’t been worth near the fee we paid (a club record one).  If he was a £2m punt instead of a £20m one things might be viewed differently.

He’s the Warren Barton of NUFC attackers - canny lad, worked his bollocks off, quality not there, not worth the fee we paid.

All right, but apart from his terrific engine, all-out effort, blazing speed and three months of genius - - - what has Miggy Almiron ever done for us?

Can’t blame the lad for not wanting to go to Saudi Arabia tbf

Tbf we don't even know if the Saudis really wanted him, or if they were ever going to do us some special deal because of our links with PIF. Let's just pretend they were never in the picture and get whatever his real value is worth. If that's £8m we should take it happily and job well done.

We got what we paid for.

£20m was at best an average fee for a Premier League player at the time.

He doesn’t have an end product, but if he did he would have cost more, or certainly have been sold on for much more once he was proven in the Premier League.
