worthy
I would love it if this preseason form just keeps going. Miggy fixing his finishing and positioning with the work rate and stamina he has would just be amazing.

Yorkie
Thought his second goal was a superb finish. To take it in his stride and put it exactly where it needed to go, was great tekkers. We've seen players have barnstorming pre-seasons before and do nowt. Recall Damien Duff scoring about a million goals one year, and he was shit. Optimistic about Miggy though. Guest reefatoon
Would be great if he can turn it around like Joelinton and Krafth. Think there is some extra levels in quite a few players that can come out. Amazing what some proper training, belief and confidence can do with a player. Keep it up miggy lad. gbandit
Similar technique on the second goal to his goal against Crystal Palace with a lot less lift on the shot. Opened his body up and put some curl on it. Maybe he’s going to turn into our Robben

It might even be as simple as he's getting to understand how we play now and is growing into being a right sided forward in the way that Howe wants him to play it. Emotic
Maybe he's been learning English with Bruno's tutor, and that helps with the on-field communication? I was shocked when I found out how rusty his English was despite him having spent years in Atlanta and Newcastle. Even Bruno was dishing out interviews better than him! Yorkie
The two assists were both out of the top drawer btw. The first one needed the exact amount of power and direction to meet him and avoid the defenders; the second was delicate and precise. Miggy still had a lot to do, particularly with the second one, but the passes gave him every chance. Delightfully clinical.
ponsaelius
Trippier is a ridiculously good footballer like. I'm slightly worried he might physically decline quickly in the coming years and it might cost us defensively - but his ability on the ball is lightyears ahead of what we've had for years. Yorkie
My thoughts exactly, Sewelly. I'm nervous at the prospect of him getting burned by basically anyone with a bit of pace but on the ball he's a level above what we're used to seeing from players in that position. sixx
It’s kind of great that improving the RW is our biggest priority in the market yet it’s the position delivering the best in preseason. Goes to show there’s competition in the squad and underlines Howe’s ability to extract the maximum from average players.
Guest
Shame Wilson wasn't a split second quicker for the little opening he'd created.
Guest
Did seem to work nicely yesterday though. He's got the work rate to be able to cover the right hand side but if he's going to start popping up centrally like for the chance he created plus the two goals and allowing Trippier to get forward and put crosses in then we might have come across something exciting. alexf
Would love him to out perform Grealish and shove his disrespectful comment up his arse but it's only pre-season. However like all our players..he has every opportunity now for this to be his best season so far for us. There's no real excuses for any of them not to perform at their best anymore. Yes it's only pre-season, and Miggy might well crawl back into his shell once the season gets underway, BUT he does have all the ingredients to be a very good player, and you have to think if anyone can get him operating at full capacity, it's going to be Howe. There's really no reason why he shouldn't be scoring 7-10 goals a season if he's doing the right things.
KaKa
Thought he looked fantastic as one of the number 8 central midfielders today. If we get in a top right winger, I would not be adverse to seeing him in that role with Joelinton, and with Bruno playing in the middle of the pair of them. That trio would be a menace pressing and recovering the ball and breaking forward to counter.
Bompeter
Say goodbye to ever seeing north of 45% possession with Almiron in a midfield three.

You could have 100% possession if every player played in their own half and passed backwards tbf.

Obviously Miggy and Willock are vastly different players, but the one thing they have in common is that they like to run with the ball forward with pace. With Bruno and Joelinton as the other two CMs, Howe might like a direct and pacy third option in there.
Hanshithispantz
Think Howe is just giving some midfielders minutes in a few positions as they'll have to be flexible next season.
80
Only saw the highlight vid, but Almiron looks so much more direct now. Loved his drop of the shoulder to create his well taken shot.
