bhoywhonder
So, we have finally "broken our transfer record" ! At the time we bought Michael Owen, had Almiron been around then, how much would he have been worth in the transfer market, I wonder? He was around, but he was only about 9 years old. Sunderland might have been interested....

Manxst
Urgh. I hate one's that rumble on. And that means he can't train with the squad yet either. But think of the days wage we’ve saved, man!
manorpark
£9-10m? I would have thought a LOT less than that! What is the world transfer record now (at this date, while we are buying Almiron) and remember that a few years earlier it was £15 Million for Alan Shearer. Guest firetotheworks
£20m adjusted for inflation was £13.6m in 2005. Conversely £16m in 2005 would be £23.4m now. Obviously all of that is outside of UK football's own economy.

At the time we bought Michael Owen, had Almiron been around then, how much would he have been worth in the transfer market, I wonder? £1.74m Yes, that would be about right, possibly even less. just shows the "actual worth" of our new transfer record breaking buy. xLiaaamx
There's is no fucking way he'd be worth less than 10% of his current fee in 2005, that would have made Albert Luque a £90 million player now.

That’s probably doubled now but I’d say £8-10m.

Guest chopey
I'm sick of these ill informed pundits saying Almiron will fit into our system of long ball from the keeper to Rondon and he catches the knock downs, even last night we play the ball out from the back and hit cross field balls to Rondon so multiple players can be brought into play, I'm convinced these pundits only watch the games they pundit on even though its their job to know football across multiple leagues.
