Pokerprince2004
I miss Trippier and Almiron linking up with their 1-2s etc, think it was a big part of how we played when we finished 4th. Our right side looks nowhere nesr as good now with Murphy and Tino (I do rate Tino but Trippier was a notch above imo)

Come January, should be moved on for whatever sale there is. Doesn't matter if it's £5m, just get gone. The minutes he will end up getting across the season, someone like Sanusi can take up. One thing we need to get better at, slimmer squad, where the fringe minutes is spent on kids. But I'm sure argument come January will be, we have a chance of Europe, so need to keep the experienced heads. Love the guy, but his time is up and let's not drag it out to a sorry ending. We turned down £7m in January from the American side. I don't think we are getting money for him now so we need to use him, and he needs to make an impact when he plays. Mike
Smelling like roses, this lad. Bemoan his decision making in the box but without him we aren't even fucking getting in there.

Yeah, probably a big factor in the press not being what it was. With Trippier and Schar's ages and their unique profiles, it was always likely we'd have to transition to something without plug and play replacements for what they give us, but maybe its the case for Miggy too. aussiemag
He was pretty good tonight. Just had no one around him that was supporting him. Livramento and Longstaff were extremely poor.
gbandit
As always a tireless workhorse that doesn’t have natural attacking instincts save for that beautiful cut inside and curler on the left foot that we haven’t seen for a while. A top lad
Newcastle Fan
Same old Almiron to be honest, runs a lot and did well to win the penalty but even against a side way below is the leagues he didn't look that threatening.
kenlau88210
He did play well overall. However, Gordon put it on a plate for him but he just could not use the right foot to tap it in
Aiston
People were harsh on him for that Gordon cross, which Almiron is only getting to as it's on the line about to go out of play.

But he still got in good positions then turned back too often instead of going for the jugular. That is a weakness in his game that is not going to be fixed at 30 yrs old. gbandit
He’s always been better than Murphy. Murphy can cross a ball and has pace but Miggy is way better at defending, way better at pressing, significantly better at carrying the ball. Miggy is very frustrating because he can’t cross the ball and is desperate to be on his left foot but he’s far more use to us when we’re pressing teams well than Murphy
