Mike Ashley (former owner) (still alive)

Recommended Posts

I refuse to believe, but this guardian article goes into a hell of a lot of detail compared to the high level stuff that was going around following the Peter Kenyon fiasco:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/jan/26/saudi-340m-takeover-newcastle-leak-threatens-deal

They'd leave Bruce in charge?  :serious:

Surely Muslim owners won't leave a human ham in charge of the first team.

:spit:

Get in.

We all know Ashley is a deceptive fat c*nt but why would he leak another take over story now?

He’s arguably under the least amount of pressure to sell the club than he ever has been. The ground is full again with no dissenting voices against him to be heard.

The club is sat in mid table and unlikely to be relegated and now has a manager who won’t criticise him.

If these talks are true, then there is absolutely no way that the excuse of ‘no proof of funds’ can be used again. If the Saudi’s are serious about this then it’s only good ol’ Mike who can f*ck this up. Obviously, this is the most likely outcome.

No way this guilt should fall on us, its like when Talksport asked if Newcastle should buy a player or let Ashley use the cash to save jobs on the high street

Sure I saw someone post on here that when we signed Shearer, the North-East edition of The Sun/Mirror were bigging it up, the rest of the country editions were up in arms about how that money could be spent on hospitals, etc.

 There's absolutely a fundamental misunderstanding of what a private company is among the wider British public

"Accountants involved in auditing Mr Ashley’s retail businesses were told in recent weeks that Newcastle was “disappearing from the book”, according to a person with knowledge of the matter, in another sign that the British billionaire is finally moving to offload it."

What does this mean?

He's selling the club so it won't be considered one of his assets anymore.

As far as I'm concerned, if we are going to get taken over, would rather it be Arab buyers over anyone else. British buyers don't have the money, American buyers are looking to make money not invest it, and Chinese buyers are no better than Saudis if we are talking human rights. At least with MBS you know he won't mess about, we'll be going hell for leather to win trophies. Rather us than the Saudis go somewhere else like Leeds.
