I think they are all at it, but sports direct and the sofa ones take the piss a bit more than everyone else.

back in the olden days I had a summer job in Woolworths. They had a couple of shelves at the back of the shop with all sorts of stuff on. I was told it was back there as no one would pay that price for the stuff. But there was some law they had to sell something for a certain number of weeks before they could then say it was the RRP and have it with a sales price on. Every Woolworths had these out the way shelves with different stuff on,  so in however many weeks time they could roll out that stock at the fake sales price.

the worst ones now seem to be online places that have the countdown to end of sale. then another starts the second it finishes.

All the protein shake companies seem to work like that.

Yeah that's correct, it's why at Xmas you'll see random stuff being sold at ridiculous prices and to then in the sales be put out as a loss leader (as no one bought it).

Most sales are the biggest cons going especially with Amazon etc nowadays.  Just use a price tracking website.

I'm not a cunt so I don't want him to die or anything like that. But I'd get spectacular joy if news broke that he'd gone bankrupt and become destitute.

Don't worry I'm a cunt enough for 2 people when it comes to that fucking fat piece of human scum.

Unrelated but the Cheap Chart at Woolworths followed by a trip to Music Zone/MVC used to be my go to when I wanted to spend £20 on six or seven new albums I'd not listened to. Great days

In the branch I was in, the media department or whatever it was called was viewed as the best bit to work in. Lowly summer staff were not allowed in that bit!

the Woolworths hierarchy was media cd/dvd department with its own til, followed by the sweets and crisps department and the rest the newbies had to work in.

  • 4 months later...

My brothers friend/boos has commercial deal with Sports Direct and is close to Mike Ashley, and Michael Murray (his son-in-law, and CEO of Sports Direct).

Anyway he’s going in for Sheffield Wednesday. He’s waiting for administrators/liquidators to be appointed first in order to try and pick them up as cheap as possible and to take away the discussion from Chansiri who is rather difficult and still want a stupid amount for them.

The sale of the Coventry stadium to Coventry City was more to do with making this deal easier with the EFL than a willing sale.

They should go for liquidation.

That opens it up to Ashley and others though as they will try do a sale of assets and payback to creditors first and foremost.

HMRC are likely to be the ones who place them into either liquidation or administration with a remit of getting their money back. Whoever poses the best option on that front will gain the club.

Will believe it when I see it. There's no cheese to be made at Sheffield Wednesday without investment and ambition and he'll deploy neither of those on the off chance he might get it back

Can sell Barry Bannan to Celtic for £1m tho, pure proffit.

Fair points, however he was interested in Reading not long back.

Id hate to see him take over another club but if he did take over Sheffield Wednesday and pushed to promote them to the PL ( :yao:), fuck we'd take some pleasure in smashing them.
