STM
As someone above said, there is no way its 40m. More like 15m + 25m if he gets x amount of goals/games or whatever. It's still an outrageous decision. Of course we could have Mbappe up front and it wouldnt make one jot of difference since we spend about 9 minutes out of the 90 on the ball. It's 100% something like this. Probably as low as £10 million upfront. There's was a lot of talk at the time of the club having been given a great deal for him. Probably £1 million a year for 40 years

Tsunami
He’s never a £40M player but he’s also never a centre forward. He’s now shot to pieces and we’ve ruined whatever type of player we might have had. It’s nothing short of disgraceful that we are having to continue to play him in a role he clearly can never do. It’s affecting everything, there’s absolutely no confidence in the other players that a ball to Joelinton will stick and moves are breaking down before they start with players guessing whether he’ll win the ball or not. huss9
had a decent game out wide so bruce pushes him back central. muto out wide. should have been the other way around.
Big Geordie
As has been said before, he played at inside-left in Germany, so whoever thought he could make a Rondont-type foward, wants fucking shot. Dodgy as hell.
geordiedean
Hes just 1 of 3 forwards that we have spent a combined 80m on that cant do the job they are paid to do Fucking appaling recruitment as per usual. The whole thing stinks
David Edgar
He's an average wide forward at best and a poor striker. Awful signing.
geordiedean
He's an average wide forward at best and a poor striker. Awful signing. Value wise hes the worst striker I've seen in 40 years even Rob McDonald, Rambo Reilly,Tony Cunningham,Frank Pingel,Shola,The Hoss could score goals To think we paid 2 and a half times the amount we paid more for this guy than Arsenal paid for Aubameyang and Liverpool paid for Salah is fucking mind boggling

KaKa
Worst 1 v 1 I’ve ever seen Think I gave up on the guy after that I literally felt something inside me die. I like him and think in a more professional setup and club he has a lot of tools that can be refined and developed into a quality player. It will never happen here though. He will likely become a source of ridicule and will leave a broken man.

Dunce
Being a manager for nufc must be the same as working as a contractor when they tell u all tools are available on the job when you get there they give you a roll of 1970s bog roll instead of a hydraulic pump

Deuce
He was at his best with Kramarić playing off him as a second striker. Would’ve been nice to see him and Ayoze together.

That person needs shooting.

Tribesman
I still think there is a better player than what we are seeing. If Benitez was in charge or even someone half decent we would have saw more from him. Before people say Benitez didn't want him, it was reported he did like him, but just not worth spending nearly his entire budget on 1 player when the squad is lacking in other areas which has proven to be the case. That said he is not a £40 million player and never will be a £40 million player. I reckon if we bought Rondon as well he would have been a good mentor for Joelinton and would have taken the goal scoring burden off him.
