TRon
Maybe he thinks Zirkzee will reinvent himself as a wrecking ball midfielder.
Ben
Zirkzee is lazy for a traffic cone, not a chance he could turn into big Joe.
Erikse
They are wildly different players.
Nine
I’m confused, that’s a really bizarre comparison
RodneyCisse
Zirkzee just seems like an overweight striker, that doesn’t translate into a wrecking ball midfielder. Joe was relatively slim when he was missing chances left right and centre up top.
Astroblack
Can see that actually working if you look at it like a Carrick style static DM. Edited October 14 by Astroblack
Lotus Posted Sunday at 23:19 Share Posted Sunday at 23:19 Tbh, I thought he was largely poor until the 70 minute mark. As oppo players tire he doesn’t (or doesn’t as much) and he has a bit of space and looks good. Would only bring him on as a sub with 30 to go. 10 mins to get up to speed and then 20-25 mins of bullying everyone. He doesn’t have the kind 180° vision to play in midfield, especially facing his own goal.
duo Posted Sunday at 23:40 Share Posted Sunday at 23:40 not got close to his form when we finished 4th

He’s clearly much better further forward, but he’s a middling (at best) midfielder.
Nine Posted Monday at 01:00 Share Posted Monday at 01:00 (edited) 2 hours ago, duo said: not got close to his form when we finished 4th This change in system won’t get the most out of him, he’s at his best in the full on press we deployed that season. Having said that, he was one of our best performers today. Edited Monday at 02:06 by Nine
nufcjb Posted Monday at 01:09 Share Posted Monday at 01:09 We are even poorer without him in the side. Some will argue that but we are severely lack any strong ball winners in the whole squad and big Joe is best at that when we go full on press like a few season ago. Sadly for some reason, we're not playing that style anymore and it makes him look 'off form' when actually the whole team is 'off form'.
Groundhog63 Posted Monday at 06:50 Share Posted Monday at 06:50 MotM for both of us, just pipping Hall. If Isak and/or Barnes had passed to him when they should (granted Isak's was less obvious) we'd have come away with something.
NSG Posted Wednesday at 21:48 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:48 Lush to see Jow and Joe link up down the left again. Like 22/23 all over again.
Heron Posted Wednesday at 21:48 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:48 Was a powerhouse again today. Little unlucky not to score at the start.

Lush Vlad Posted Wednesday at 21:51 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:51 Back to beast mode playing 3 positions. It’s what he does best.
Dan Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Absolute beast at LW. Always been his strongest position. Should start there again next game.
Lotus Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Share Posted Wednesday at 21:52 There was a fair bit of space for him to play and he wasn't playing centrally so I think it suited him and it showed. Also, looks so much better from 70 mins on.
Myleftboot Posted Wednesday at 22:02 Share Posted Wednesday at 22:02 We bought Gordon and barnes for that position when it was always jows.
