ASM is undoubtedly talented but he’s scored less goals in the league that both big Joe and Almiron this season. He’s a stand out player for us but wouldn’t be much use for most of the upwardly mobile teams in the league.

The talent is certainly there and with proper coaching and attitude he could go far. You’re right though would one of the so called ‘super league’ teams be prepared to take that chance. Maybe an Everton, Leicester or West Ham would. He is also quite injury prone which may also put teams off. Been thinking on this today actually and unless one of the three teams I listed takes a chance, I can see clubs waiting to see his output over the next season first. Maybe one of the top teams will think that with better players around him, that his game and output will improve dramatically - I believe it maybe would also. He’s still only 24 also. Ashley mind will be asking top dollar for him and he is usually a stickler for getting big fees for players with value.

First (and last) time seeing this bloke in the flesh today. Does he always look like he's in agony? Is that just him? He goes on these lung-bursting runs then spends the next two minutes wincing and walking gingerly.

I feel like we've never seen this guy not playing within himself; ever since that hamstring he got in that win at Spurs in the orange kit, I feel like he's never been at maximum sharpness.

Might go down as one of those cult heroes who we enjoyed but was always injured/half-fit, a la Bellamy or something.

He’s a player who needs a few games to get up to speed, mainly with his decision making to be honest.

He goes past most players with ease, but say his output has an 80% failure rate, which sounds bad but he tries so much in games that the 20% success either leads to a chance or a goal. It might even be a higher failure rate but that’s beside the point. He’s worth the frustration.

Now if he could be coached to make better decisions that is a scary prospect. He’s still quite young after all.

He’s not stupid, he’ll play another season here and wait for a takeover like the rest of us, if it doesn’t happen he’ll be away then.
