Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

Clubs like Liverpool have a whole array of forwards. We play a high pressing game and will likely be fighting on 4 fronts next season. We need depth and competition for places and improving potential. Gordon ticks all those boxes.

Edit, ASM still has a massive role to play too.

I used to think Graeme Bailey was just a fairly unreliable sports journo. If you ever catch him on Loaded Mag (he was on last night) your bullshit meter will go into overdrive. He also has a weird hard on for critisising ASM.

He's an absolute whopper.

He just won’t fit into our system.

There’s no way he’s getting through the work Willock or Miggy put in

The Willock/Joelinton left-side system has yielded one goal in our last 4 league games. The saving grace is that we haven't conceded any either, but it does seem like it might be overdoing the work rate/defensive aspect at the expense of goals.

We can definitely change the system to be more attacking against most teams imo.

You could just be open-minded enough to not think that everything that's already happened means that's how things will always be.

ASM might be integrated into the team and be a star, he might be used as an impact sub, he might wither away and end up sold, who knows? Waste of time trying to be a know-it-all after 20 games of an injury-hit season, particularly when that same manager said about 4 hours ago that ASM's 'here to stay, and an integral part of my team'

He’ll be an impact sub at best.

You think he’ll be happy with that?

Wasn't there a stat just a day or so ago that ASM played more minutes than any other player last year?

Sure some of that was under the cabbage, but it's baffling to think he's not rated by Howe. He's not played because of injury and because we've not lost since he's been back fit again. It took Bruno ages to get in the first XI ffs, and Isak is having to walk the same path as ASM.

When you consider all of that, there's absolutely no reason to think Howe doesn't rate or trust him. He just needs to bide his time.
