Basically just seems to be saying that Saudi Arabia haven't kept to their obligation of allowing Qatar to chase BEoutQ in their courts.  Then concludes that Saudi Arabia should allow those proceedings.  How the f*** was this made out to be some kind of nuclear bomb for the takeover??

Clickbait.

Because the press used it for click bait thinking by the time the report was published the takeover would have been resolved one way or another. I’m also guessing that the Qatari’s were able to use some of their friendly journalists to publish their agenda and using the WTO report. It was also further enhanced by Qatari bots on social media.

Is this the final hurdle?

Or will somebody submit a new letter to the PL complaining about the takeover?

Hold your horses son, Amnesty and Miguel will have a few typed and saved with a digital widow signature that they can let fly at any time.

Wonder if the questions the buyers were answering last week were in relation to the recommendations at the end of the report. As in what steps are they taking to allow criminal proceedings to be brought against BeOutQ.

I'd study the language. Ziegler saying 'uncertainty'. They don't know themselves.

By the sounds of it Saudi have been found guilty of not punishing the piracy or stopping it, but there's a world of difference between that and actively engaging in it.

The WTO report states the evidence it has seen supports Qatar’s assertions that: “a) beoutQ’s piracy was promoted by prominent Saudi nationals, (b) beoutQ targets the Saudi market, © beoutQ’s pirate broadcasts are transmitted via Arabsat satellite frequencies, and (d) beoutQ has received assistance from a Saudi content distributor in delivering its pirated broadcasts to Saudi consumers.

“Taking these conclusions together, and recalling the applicable standard of proof and evidentiary principles in WTO dispute settlement, the Panel considers that Qatar has established a prima facie case that beoutQ is operated by individuals or entities subject to the criminal jurisdiction of Saudi Arabia,” it adds.

If this issue does prevent the takeover. How sad would it be that an intellectual property issue, which has been vastly overblown, would collapse the deal rather than the actually morally questionable human rights violations.

"The World Trade Organisation has ruled that Saudi Arabia was behind a pirate satellite TV and streaming service that illegally broadcast sporting events"

But they haven't though, have they? They've established that Saudi Arabia didn't do enough to stop it, not that SA was behind the illegal broadcasts.

All the journo’s will be putting their own spin on the report, I doubt there’s enough there to block PIF.
