Various: N-O has lost the plot over potential end of Mike Ashley's tenure

Are the Premier League even allowed to examine documents handed to them by third parties during this process? Isnt it between the PL and the owners and no one else? I didn't realise it was an open forum for people who are not involved to make their case against the deal. If claims against the buyers havent been proven in court surely the PL cannot use them in any way?

I'm not sure how these checks work, but they may not have to conform to the same requirements per other legal matters - in the same way civil and criminal cases have differing burdens of proof.

Obviously they'll have some formal process which would hopefully be subject to a legal challenge (fairly sure someone has in the past?)

are we expected to believe they've given mike ashley £17m non-refundable even in the event that something completely out of their control goes wrong?

maybe they're not as smart as we hope

They’ll sue the PL for it back if they were to walk away. More likely they’ll sue them and keep going.

Is there any merit in the thought that, even if it has all been approved and ready to be announced, that the announcement is being delayed because of the likely madness that will take place in Newcastle city centre and the implications that will have in spreading the virus like mad.

Just a thought.......

No. They’d have to mention it at some point. What difference is delaying the announcement a week or two going to make?

Week or two

This Guardian article is just a load of hot air from Journalists with not much to write about (about football) at the moment. There's just "us" and "Project Restart", and nothing else.

SO . . to all of us (like ME) who were certain our Takeover would be announced and confirmed this week, before this "Guardian Panic", just go back to feeling (knowing) that is the case . . because IT IS, AND THIS IS THE WEEK !!!!!!!!!!

Kind of forgotten this is even a possibility now. Seems an age ago I was excited.

Yeah, those early leaks have murdered the excitement and positivity. Just feel bored to death of it all at the moment. Everytime you feel it might be close, you are just waiting for the next negative spin to come.

Yeah I can see Ashley throwing his toys out the pram and trying any way possible of just fucking it up. His tantrums far outweigh rational thinking with that twat. If he can find a way to fuck it all up, he is on it.

Ashley wants it finished and done with because the PL are going to claim television money back and he wants to be gone and clear of things before it comes up (imo)

That's a good theory.

I suspect he needs capital as well.
