Newcastle Fan
He works hard but he's terrible in the final third, which can be said about many others in this team, they really need to start having more confidence in front of goal.
joeyt
Worked himself into the ground but there's not a whole lot of quality coming from him
Guest
Not the player I was hoping but turning into a Premier League version of Gouffran in the Championship. Would have came off if it hadn’t been for Lascelles injury. Left everything out there when you could see he was running on empty from about 70 minutes. Happinesstan
He's another lacking fitness, but he never gives up. His effort obviously means he tires quicker than most, and might explain his proneness for injury. I'd like to see him in good shape because he can be effective. was it Brentford where he put a cross on ASM's toe for him to score.

Aye, when he missed that chance you could see he was fucked, then pretty much hobbled back to protect Trippier when they tried breaking summed him up. Think he’ll be good for the relegation battle then move him on.

Like I say, if he can get a good pre-season under his belt, he'll be an effective sub.

thorin
Has anyone figured out why he's the corner taker nowadays? Giving me headaches :/

It's an odd one, I get the feeling he would provide more end product if he was actually getting into the final third a bit more, but it seems he's playing more as a defensive wide man than a forward, and that takes away all his cutting edge. He's just not an athlete so often gets overrun and as a result gets lost in the melee for the most part.
Klaus
Forgot he played a class ball across for Wood, who completely missed it, when he was in behind.
Yorkie
He's basically Atsu.
toontownman
I think the biggest factor is how little play time he has had the past couple of years. He is running himself into the ground every game but he doesn't physically have the same stamina he did when at bournemouth under Howe. Hopefully he just gets stronger. We know there is a player there from his Bournemouth days, IF his body let's him.
Palestoon
agreed on the effort, he never stopped running. maybe my memory is hazy, but I remember him having this burst of pace that would leave defenders for dead in his days at bournemouth. Not sure if hes just lacking fitness, or injuries etc, but he looks so weak in everything he does.
Stottie
Seems to be a grafter now and not much more. I think I'd prefer Murphy. If its just graft and tactical discipline we're after, I'd prefer 60 minutes of Ritchie if Wood is up front.

The Merse
Always looks like he has a pebble in his boot - constantly in pain - put a shift in yesterday but the lack of being able to substitute him late on exposed his lack of fitness

Giving me headaches :/ They’re no worse than Shelvey’s - and now Trippier’s here it frees him up. Fraser takes the in-swingers with his left, Trippier with his right. Shelvey now takes a position on the edge of the box, either to get a shot away or “recycle” it if it’s cleared. It’s a simple but smart move IMO. Yorkie
Tbf you could absolutely believe that Fraser was a lefty based on the use of his righty.

Fraser has had 18 months at the club, 16 of which were under Steve Bruce. Compare that to working under a tactician like Benitez that meticulously strategisies each player's role. I'm not even talking just tactics here either. We heard some pretty ropey stuff about fitness under Bruce and it's debatable if he's ever been fit. 2.) Fraser's peak in the Premier League had him with 21 goal contributions. I'm not convinced we'll get close to that, but he's certainly got the creativity to produce something. I won't be writing him off until there's a degree of stability for him to thrive in.
