Maybe a more pay as you play deal?

See this suggested every now and then, are there any examples of this actually being a thing at the top level?

Incentive based = pay per game??

No chance it will be a lower basically salary with more bonuses.

Tells me we aren't signing a striker this window unless we can't get him to sign which is a mistake.

I’ve defended him a fair bit, but it does feel like now is the time to go. I can’t see a guy with his ego accepting a bit part role on lower wages, it’s his last chance to get a good deal for himself.

if a Leeds come in I’d still expect him to leave.

Pay as you play still doesn't help us, he runs like he's wearing jeans and doc martins and limits Osula or whoever else we buy getting onto the pitch who might actually do something.

That makes sense if his fitness was the only doubt, however it’s his contributions on the pitch that are as much the issue.

Don't think it's sentiment at all tbh. We just have a lot of positions to fill in the window and finding a rotation option for Isak is difficult in the market. We'll be seeing if we can keep him around on the mega cheap as a failsafe.

I don't agree with it but it's not sentiment. It's trying to navigate PSR as best we can.

Think the chances are he'll have better offers from a promoted club or abroad.

Surely low base, high bonuses is a massive risk from his point of view?

He'd be better off taking a step down or 2, or going abroad etc

Even if he played for free, he'd feel like a waste of a bench space imo

He isn’t a rotation option though, he offers nothing.

Pay as you play literally doesn't exist at the top level - I wonder what that tweet actually means
