Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Looks to be playing with so much more confidence. Maybe not playing for his hometown club has taken a bit of pressure off him?

Feel like we rarely saw him dribble much and he was often in the team for his energy and grafting but we didn't see too much of his technical skill

It was tiring to read the mandatory "I dont even get what position he plays" posts after his cameos, so must have been even harder for him.

Was so sad when we had to sell him, but he seems like a top lad and I think the transfer will be prosperous for his career

I think Howe was a big fan of his but what you’ve described is really our playing style, energy, graft and little technical quality in midfield.

He looked pretty good in pre season last season. Would've played most of our games mid season if it wasn't for that back injury.. We will never know how that would've played out, unfortunately.

See I dont think we have any style at all are are stuck between what we want to be. We have 2 fantastic passers of the ball and ask them to play in ways they cant, a bit like Anderson was.

Hope the lad does well, hes technically a lovely player from what he showed in the lower leagues and last few games we have watched

It's quite depressing the talent we let go in the summer. Anderson is really starting to shine.

It is and as much as we’ll be forever in debt to Amanda Staveley, mistakes were made in the last year of their ownership, from badly managing the PSR situation and giving Howe to much control on transfers in the end.

Incredibly annoyed that Anderson is a NFFC player, he never got a proper chance here but I understand why we had to sell him.

The only silver lining is that we are HIS club and he will always love us more and I hope one day he will come back :nods:

Really liked him. Always thought he played with a lot of maturity, and eventually the goals and assists would come.

Think playing in that number 10 position has given him a bit more freedom, and he's benefitting from that.

Very underrated as an attacking player his Bristol Rovers spell showed that, using him as one of the midfield 3 didn’t showcase his best attributes.

Shows amount of bed wetters we have as fans and even some people on here, more bothered about a lad no one every watching leaving for Brighton than Anderson.

Both are fairly minor issues TBH. We just seem to have an obsession with everything that happens with other clubs or anyone that does well anywhere else.

It was quite likely that Anderson was never going to play regularly for us.

I think Howe was a big fan of his, but was never able to find a spot for him in CM, and that is where he is starting to show some form. Howe is also very reluctant to give young players an easy route to the first team, we have also seen that with Lewis Hall and now Osula. Forest gave him that freedom and he is doing well apparently.

He plays as a 10. We don’t play with a 10.  Regular games and playing there are massively helping him.

Shame he had to be moved on. But I personally think he actually started to get a bit frustrating for us. Was a bit of a nothing player a lot of the time ans position-less in our side.

The move looks like it is helping his career progress. Good luck to the lad. Glad he is doing well.

This is howes biggest / possibly only fault for me, the way he holds some players back - if he can address that going forward then I believe he can become an even better manager.

He did get frustrating for us. When I first saw him he looked a hell of a prospect, but then it started to look like he was found wanting against top level defenders. That might still turn out to be the case, he's just short of being top class, but he is getting a good crack at it with Forest, and you always saw a bit of Ross Barkley in him.
