It’s largely accepted that PSR window ends at end of June? Anderson signed for Forest on 30th June. There was no haggle room. Forest had us by the balls so much so we had to over pay for their keeper. We paid £20m for him a year after Forest paid £4.5m for him and we’ve no interest in playing him which speaks volumes. What you think we could have done better I’ve no idea. We had 1 day to do that deal or fail PSR.

It should never have gotten that desperate but that’s an entirely different argument .

This is why we got Wilson he did such a number on us we said you need to be working for us fella

Here's one thing I know for certain.

If Anderson was at Newcastle performing the way he has been at Forest, and starting for England alongside Rice, people would be demanding at LEAST £150 million from Man City and saying £120 million wasn't enough.

What fans would be demanding and what he's actually worth are two different things though, it's crazy that City are bidding that amount. He didn't even have a particularly good season last year, his form in the middle of the season was a contributer to Forest struggling.

We should have listened to those Bristol Rovers fans.

Tbf, he was a really outstanding prospect before he even went there, pretty sure there was talk of him being the next Gazza. It was only when he played a few games for us at premier level that we started to wonder if he could make the step up. As soon as he went to Forest, got played in a different role, he started tearing it up for them.

I'm still not sure just how good he is, but I think he couldn't play the role we asked him to with all the high press stuff.

Probably mentioned already but mad how Ross Wilson bought Anderson from us for a £20m PSR diddle and sold Elanga to us for £55m!

Gives me confidence we're in good hands now atleast

I think people are only saying he's not worth it and isn't that good because he was sold to Forest and is doing so well there.

Forest struggled because of the fallout with Nuno right at the start of the season, and the changes they then had to make at the manager position.

We're asking £100 million for Tonali, and people on here think that's valid, and he has really been poor, and nowhere near Anderson's level. Now that would be a real robbery if Newcastle manage to get that for him, and I actually hope that one happens.

Who's asking for £100m for Tonali? On here you mean?

Ahh ok, haven't seen that anywhere.

He's had a poor season but I still think he's an absolute beast of a player.

Yeah, that's fair. Everyone rates players differently. I've gone off him personally, but I do think a lot of his struggles are down to how he's been utilised.

He's been well off it for a good while now, and the club have still set that £100 million tag on him, and so not sure why £20 million more for Anderson who has been performing much better is deemed to be so outrageous.

I think both figures being talked about there are too high personally, but I hate how transfer fees have become over inflated over the last few years anyway.

Chelsea to blame again.

Yeah, the numbers are out of control, but these clubs are constantly being approached for their best players by much richer clubs, even when they aren't looking to sell them, and so they're going to keep pushing them up.

He's 26 though, Anderson is 23.

No one is going to play £100m for Tonali other than City, and it looks like they will probably get Anderson.

Well that's good then, he can stay with us. 26 is peak age for a midfielder surely.

A 26 year old will have less sell on value assuming he stays for at least two years. I guess for a club like Man City that might not matter, but most normal clubs will factor that in.
