Facundo Ferreyra Posted Saturday at 22:13 Share Posted Saturday at 22:13 Really happy for him, hope he can build on his performance today. He's not played consistently enough to get back to the level he was at a few years ago.
Gazzaschicken Posted Sunday at 09:29 Share Posted Sunday at 09:29 Great performance but reckon he will be away in the summer based of his comments in the interview after the game. Kids itching to play regularly
David Edgar Posted Sunday at 09:34 Share Posted Sunday at 09:34 He'll need to find a mid to lower table club to play regularly. He doesn't have the all-round game to play for us.

Kids itching to play regularly Perfect opportunity for him to step in and step up as a league starter for the next three weeks. He should play City, Forest, Liverpool, FA Cup and Brentford if Joelinton needs to be wrapped in cotton wool until at least the West Ham game. That’s a run of six games to get his form up including yesterday’s outing.

The LCM spot is the one that’s available, then if he wants to play in Europe, he’s not going to be a regular for anyone in Europe.

Think he'll be involved but there might also be some horses for courses, with Miley getting some game time if we are under the cosh and need to retain possession.  I was defending Willock massively last season as I thought he was integral to the fourth place finish, and I get the point he needs minutes, but I'm still thinking that yesterday was against a lower league opposition so I'm not getting too excited yet.  Loved his movement for the winner though. Edited Sunday at 09:42 by Elma
Lotus Posted Sunday at 10:30 Share Posted Sunday at 10:30 Great cross field pass to Murphy. Think he’s probably a better passer of the ball than we see most of the time because as a team we tend towards progressive running over progressive passing. Kids itching to play regularly Is there a link to his full comments? Saw a brief clip on here earlier but it didn't seem like much of anything, and I don't remember anything significant from when I saw it live.  Obviously, he's wanting to get his career back on track because it's been badly derailed, and I think there's a good chance he does leave his summer partly for contractual reasons, but he didn't seem arsey or anything. Kids itching to play regularly  But he hasn't been fit and when he has come in he's been generally poor. That's not Eddie's fault and not through lack of opportunities. You can't throw your toys out the pram after your first semi decent performance for awhile (not that I think he has, I think those quotes were talking about frustration with himself not the manager)

Shearergol Posted yesterday at 15:08 Share Posted yesterday at 15:08 If (and it's a huge IF) he can stay fit, I'd play him alongside Bruno and Tonali. I think those 3 together work better than the other options.
AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 16:25 Share Posted yesterday at 16:25 Still not convinced he's tidy enough to be a CM without giving the ball away a lot, but I guess you could say the same thing about Joelinton.  Rooting for him though, hope he can find a role.

If Joelinton is sold this or next summer, a new purple CM would make us fearsome. Not sure whether an enforcer type (to give us power) or a passer/creative type or an all-rounder like Big Joe however. A DM type like a Kante could be useful because Bruno RCM and Tonali LCM could also be very strong indeed.

AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 17:32 Share Posted yesterday at 17:32 I’d like a left-footed technical CM with nice movement and energy. Can’t think of an example, someone like Bergvall but  with more physicality and shithousery.

Matt1892 Posted yesterday at 18:01 Share Posted yesterday at 18:01 When Willock has played on a regular basis he doesn’t look out of place at all, the problem for him and others is that when they are given bit part roles, usually after a period of injury, they look miles off the pace.  Hopefully we get European football and that will allow us to rotate and give the squad adequate game time, but as much as Willock looks like he needs games to get up to speed, you have Joelinton who looked like he could do with a rest, playing every week until injury.  We need to get the balance right.
