ExiledGeordie
I think there's enough games left where the other teams down around us will take points off each other that will allow us to scrape home. But if we can't pick up say 4 points from the remaining 5 games and results go against us then we deserve to go down really. Embarrassing and shameful situation developing. TRon
There's always one team that looks safe at this stage but then sinks like a stone to the bottom at the end of the season. let's hope it's not us this time. Reckon if anybody does that this year it will be Stoke, how they have dropped since the new year is ridiculous really. Teams like that usually bully their way to a good result when the going gets tough though. I can't see them going down tbh.

It'll either be Stoke or Norwich, both have been dropping down alarmingly for several games already where as we've being picking up enough points to keep us in a similar position in the table. Teams don't usually look safe with 5 games to go and then drop like a stone, in fact no team has ever been relegated from the Premier League after being 13th at this stage in the season. I don't think we'll be relegated FWIW. We have enough quality players to grab at least one win from the games left.

DJ_NUFC
I'm not TOO confident of a win, but battling draws should see us safe, and hopefully show some semblance of a team spirit.
AyeDubbleYoo
There absolutely has to be a reaction from the derby, so we might get a couple of surprising results.
ExiledGeordie
There absolutely has to be a reaction from the derby, so we might get a couple of surprising results. Exactly, if yesterday can't provoke a reaction with some guilt edged performances over the last 5 games we might as well pack up and go home.

With full weeks between games now surely we have got to put in some decent performances which will result in at least one win.

Ketsbaia
The type of players that'd react to a 'kick up the arse' are the type that wouldn't crumble under the pressure of a derby.

As if they'll give a shit about Pardew giving them a kick up the arse. Our best hope is that they'll play for their own professional pride. These players have shown spirit at times this season, although you wouldn't think it watching yesterday.

Well despite being poor our away form is actually still better than 5 other Premier League teams (seems hard to believe I know..) including Stoke and Norwich, we're joint 12th on current away form. ExiledGeordie
Coloccini is a big factor if we can get him back on the pitch starting this weekend. Much more likely to turn defeats into draws with him in the side, especially away games.
