Nah, I'm not having it like. If they're still in the mix to stay up then I think there's a very good chance they'd play a weakened side in the final.

Not a chance in hell will they.

I think Wigan will pick up 7 points.

i think you're nuts.

No offence, but I really do. They'll get nothing like that.

Having that sort of GD swing against you is awful, but keep it in perspective, Wigan are way behind, and have to get the points.

Perspective isn't something we specialise in. Your victory tonight signals the end. Wigan are irrelevant.

What's the difference between people saying we're definitely going down and you saying Wigan are definitely going down? Neither are nailed on, only one team is in better form than the other.

Well I disagree, it seems we've reached a brick wall, neesy.

One team has more points though TBF.

Of course, and I'd agree that we are still favourites to stay up. I just think it's ludicrous to mock people for being defeatist when we're in this position.

Ah sure, I'm absolutely terrified myself. I do think predicting remarkable improvements from everyone is a bit much, but I can understand it they way the pendulum is swinging.

The difference is that only one eventuality will come to fruition. That will be Wigan's relegation.

I've just done the predictor on the BBC Website. Got it coming down to a final day shoot out between us and Wigan.

Norwich      P 37 Pts 41

Sunderland  P 37 Pts 40

Stoke          P 37 Pts 40

Villa              P 37 Pts 40

NUFC            P 37 Pts 37

---------------------------------

Wigan          P 37 Pts 36

I've also got Arsenal in 4th, 1 point behind Chelsea, 2 pts ahead of Spurs.

Anyone fancy us to get something off Arsenal when they need to tie up a CL place, while Wigan have Villa who are already safe. I don't like the look of that at all.

We MUST get a win at either QPR or WHAM. We simply have to.

According to your table we don't need to pick up another point and I'd take your hand off for that now.

JUst looking at the fixtures, I can see Wigan picking up 3 points off Swansea at home.

The problem with the BBC predictor is that wherever you expect teams to not pick up points they usually have this season. Must have done it 3 or 4 times in recent weeks with Villa only getting to about 35 points.

I've just done it with Wigan getting 7 points and us getting 1 and we go down by a point but effectively 2 points due to the goal difference disadvantage vs Wigan/Norwich.  Admittedly a fairly negative POV I've taken there, but fairly justified and certainly possible.  This weekend is so crucial.

One thing I will say for Lambert is he must have balls of steel if he's really never been worried about us going down this season, because I and every other Villa fan have been shitting my pants for months now.

I still think we've chucked too many kids in at once, and that is the main thing which has led to an awful season, but I've got to say, some - not all, some - of his lower league buys have been very good. Benteke, obviously, but also Lowton and Westwood have been very good indeed. Apparently Sylla did well tonight, too.

It's a gigantic risk, and it is truly fucking horrifying watching us flaunt with destruction, but it's very watchable. If only we could learn to defend. I genuinely can not recall the last time we kept a clean sheet - it can't be in the last three or four months.

We are still in the mire, but we at least have a tad of momentum.

Looking bad for you lot tonight, but you've got three points largely guaranteed at QPR, and it'll be Wigan who drop, no worries at all.

They're down because their players haven't given a shit all season.

They're not going to start now.
